How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No complaints whatsoever. Except maybe would have liked a dust pan and brush in the dining area as the child kept spilling his food! Felt bad not being able to brush it up.
Really welcoming staff. Had a lovely chat and were great with the child too! The nothing was a problem and any queries were dealt with quickly. Parking really close to the building. Great views. All amenities catered for.

Very helpful and communicative hosts, easy check-in and access to the rooms. On-side parking available. Just 20 minutes walk to the nearby Cosh Bar & Grill restaurant.

Had some issues getting into the building itself due to the electronic locking on the door being out of batteries.

Confortable and clean room. The self check-in is really efficient and easy. If you have a car, in 15 minutes you can be in Derry center. Great place for a night stay.

The room is a bit small for 4 people.
Staff were very responsive and helpful. Parking is convenient and B&B is easy to find and close both the city centre and Donegal.

Great communication re my queries. We had large rooms and whilst all other rooms were fully booked we had a very quiet and restful night’s sleep.

Shared Kitchen for guest was a little bit small (Think that it a a complementary service) we were four and it was difficult to share the space with others.
B&B was very well situated. Perfect to stop and sleep during our Ireland trip. The kitchen available for the guest was A great thing. We were able to cook a little dinner for our family. The late check in option thank to the EXTRAORDINARY communication from the hosts was an add in value service. Bed was super comfortable Parking free 🆓 at the door WiFi 🛜 not bad 6 up to 10

Everything, it's located just a couple of miles from Derry centre but with the beauty of being in the countryside. The owners were so helpful and helped us in any way they could. Highly recommended.

CANT FAULT ANYTHING
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE,WE WILL TRY TO GET BACK IN THE SUMMER,THE ROOM AND GENERAL FACILITIES WERE BRILLIANT WITH BRILLIANT VIEWS . AND NICE GARDEN AREA. THE OWNER JIMMY WAS EXCEPTIONAL AND A WEE LEGEND,HE EVEN DROVE US DOWN TO THE BAR AND DROPPED US DOWN TO THE TRAIN STATION. HE MADE US FEEL WELCOME FROM START TO FINISH .

Breakfast was not available however the recommended bakery/cafe was excellent. The room was small but adequate for an overnight stay. The "view" was of the carpark! Entry using the supplied key codes was challenging but eventually understood - room entry could have been a little clearer.

It was I a lovely location. The room was perfect for my partner, me and our young child with enough space and a large bathroom. The staff was lovely and very helpful, there was an outside kitchen where we were able to eat dinner with a beautiful view

The host was extremely friendly and accommodating. At first, we weren't able to connect to the wifi and we got in so late at night we didn't know if we would be able to but the host came to our room and helped us figure everything out. Beautiful room and lodge all together. Wonderful place!

The entrance system could be a little bit tricky to understand. Shower was a little bit tiny, if you’re a bigger than normal person it could be somewhat uncomfortable.
Mary was very helpful and always available. Big and comfortable room. Great water pressure and temperature, heating working perfectly.

The room en-suite was a sliding door so not airtight as such.. Wasn't sure if there was another toilet available elsewhere in the building. But the actual en-suite was high spec. Lovely. Couldn't connect to TV.
Warm. High spec. Clean. Quiet. Good wifi. Amazing home bakery nearby. Very well staffed. Highly recommend! And was recommended in the email from the BnB.

I encountered a minor inconvenience with the tablet provided for check-in and check-out, as it was difficult to work with and appeared to have a dead battery.
I had an exceptional stay at Elagh BnB. The room was impeccably clean, making for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Check-in was a breeze, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. What stood out the most was the room's cutting-edge technology, which added a modern touch to the experience. Despite its high-tech features, the price was surprisingly affordable, making it an excellent value for money. Additionally, its proximity to Derry made it convenient for exploring the area.
