How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Not exactly a true "Boutique" hotel in my opinion but a nice copy, low cost everything like squash not fresh orange juice at breakfast
Great location in nice quiet residential area 2min walk from the canoe lake and bus stop right outside, helpful and friendly staff especially at breakfast. Felt the deco was on the cheap but certainly cheerful, and noticed wall paper job particularly neat! Bedding and bathroom were great, overall enjoyed our 1 night stay.

The was very soft and we could feel each other's movements while sleeping.
The room was nice and the bathroom was clean and spacious. The breakfast included in the price was tasty and was served very quickly.

Breakfast not fantastic although edible, pot of tea as opposed to half a cup would be nice,menu looks good but presentation of food & quality has much room for lnprovement. Room key difficult to open/lock door. Bathroom door lock dodgy, tries to lock you out. Bed 4 poster frame top looking worse for wear. Suspect although sheets/pillowcases nice and fresh that mattress cover and mattresses stained (not nice). Poor lighting in bathroom OK for shower /bath but useless for male shaving & ladies makeup, needs strong light near the mirror. Bedside cabinet bit pushed for space on top for tea making ect and top covering bit suspect.
Bath & double shower nice combination. Breakfast room decor very nice. 2pm book in & 11am book out. Ease of parking in prime location.

Just the pillows . Firstly they were cheap pillows/ no protective layer and smelt strongly of sweat . I had to wrap the towels round them . Apart from that everything was spot on . They must change the pillows and use pillow protectors that are also washed and decent pillowcases .
The reception staff stood out as polite / helpful/ lovely girls

Rooms under those with jacuzzi’s got a good bit of noise and vibration when they were turned on

The choice of a room lower down would have been helpful. We were on the 2nd floor and breakfast was in the basement, and I have difficulty with stairs!
The location suited us very well, the room was lovely( although could have done with another chair), and breakfast was good. Parking was very convenient.

Fire alarm for 4 hours through the night due to drunk guests flooding their hotub. Because of their rowdy behaviour our room was called disturbing our sleep.
Accommodating staff and very friendly on arrival.

Great location if you are catching a ferry to the Isle of Wight. Very clean everywhere and good staff. Good shower and wi fi. Parking limited but they provide you with a free parking permit for the road outside the hotel. Adequate breakfast. Lots of places to eat nearby.

The toilet rolls were poor quality
