Citing of breakfast layout could be better, crowded into a corner and having to find a table and keep going back to a small area to get each aspect of breakfast, not ideal. Not all rooms have view of surrounding hills, I had hoped it would , Not sure about number of dogs, not barking, but have to say not a fan of dogs, did not really take in pets welcome on web site, !,loads on 1st morning, not keen, but seem welcome in Ullswater and surrounding area, need to be aware. Could benefit with small fridge, room warm without heating, need water cooled

Everything I expected, lovely pub decor, excellent views if able to get a preferential view of surrounding area from places in dining hall, well presented in decor,

Overpriced, room not as as advertised, suppose to be superior but more of a standard double, felt they used wrong terminology. Only one chair until we asked. Nicely decorated but poor design and finish of bathroom, shower screen hindered by bath handle. Basic mixer tap shower for shower and shower head holder fitted at only about 5 ft. £200 a night but had to order food at the bar no table service. No shot glasses for some of drinks advertised on offer and no ingredients for most of the cocktails. Paid less for rooms at other places and had larger rooms table service and spa facilities. Also limited parking we where lucky to get a space over half of guests had to park in nearby pay and display at £8 a day when paying £200 a room. Also check in was slow with two people ahead lf us still had plumbers in rooms, then another some technical IT clitch, so after trying to book in 40 min early prior asked fo wait so did with drink at bar, then turned into half hr wait from given book in time.

Beautiful location and view of the lake and hills nice fresh decor and good food.

Unclear where reception is when first arrive which is a bit confusing. Hotel car park v small - a lottery as to if a space is possible. Had to park in pay and display- would prefer to be able to book parking at the hotel or have parking reimbursed or discounted if having to pay- seems unfair for some guests. Filter coffee is basic for breakfast- prefer coffee machine option/better quality.

Large comfortable rooms, bright and airy. Bathroom Small but functional. Lovely decor in bar and restaurant. Staff friendly.

Better variety for breakfast menu would be nice. Not enough parking spaces so extra cost if you can’t park at the hotel.

Staff very friendly, good atmosphere at the bar. Dinner menu very good, we never left hotel to look elsewhere to eat.

The only issue we had was the parking, there wasn't enough space so you have to park in the car park over the road which was £8.50 for overnight.

The Hotel, staff and food were great.

There seemed to be a few teething problems re what menus applied when, plus there appeared to be a lot of staff mingling about in the bar but not serving behind it when we arrived. (Maybe a staff change over) All the food menus stated served only until 17.00 (including another one we were given when querying it at 16.55, although we were told food was available until 21.00). The actual until 21.00 menu wasn't distributed until about 19.00 so it was unclear what was available before then. Guessing as a newly opened hotel and likely new staff it just needs some time to iron out the kinks.

    Clean, nice rooms.

I've tried to contact the hotel about some lost property and they have not responded. Tried emailing, messaging on Booking.com and phoned them, but they haven't answered me. Disappointed, because it was otherwise a very good stay and the staff were helpful in person.

The door handles. You know they're making an effort when they're speccing nice door handles. Dog friendly, nice bar, great food, well-earned beverages and a cracking breakfast.
