Reception and bar staff were polite but unwelcoming, far too many dogs allowed in the restaurant, annoying problems for such a lovely hotel.

Food was excellent and the two young girls waitressing were superb, hotel is well kept as are the rooms

No plates , sausages not great quality, bacon very salty . We sat in a dog friendly area , where we could already see a family sat with their dog … and were quickly told to move … then told no you can sit here !!!!

We managed to get parked, I think it would have been annoying not to get a parking space. Buffet breakfast was warm, I like my food hot, but still tasty.

Beautiful, comfortable, staff lovely. Buffet breakfast, plenty of choice. Dinner was well presented and cooked lovely. I will stay again in the near future. Great to have a drink in the beer garden after a full day on the lake.

More info from the staff on how the breakfast menu worked. We assumed we could only have the buffet but found out on our last day that we could choose from the menu on the table as well.

Bit of a maze, easy to get lost and breakfast doesn't start until about 8am which isn't ideal if you want to get an early start on a hike.

Great location in Glenridding with easy access to start/finish a climb of Helvellyn. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and good bathroom with big hot shower. Breakfast buffet was nice and they have a good bar/casual restaurant attached.

Limited car parking . ( Which was pre-stated)The lift wasn’t working to get up to the 2nd floor. The room we had was very hot ( heating was on and the external temperature was around 22C) and there was a thick duvet on the bed. There was a limited response to our request to shut off the radiator after a restless night one. ( Eventually it was off by 3rd night) We had to ask for new towels as room service missed us on day 2 despite a note being left on the door.

The rooms appeared to be muggy and warm and even with the window open it didn’t make much difference. Ideally the rooms need some air conditioning.

The decor and interior was gorgeous and full of heritage! Views to the lake were absolutely stunning! Local shops are perfect and such a friendly and welcoming village.

Room was a bit small but good for price

Excellent location. We enjoyed sitting outside in bar area and our food was really nice in restaurant. Room was on ground floor we had a dog with us so was good to be able to get outside to little field at back of hotel to walk him. Great all you can eat breakfast that set us up for the day

Food prices are a bit expensive and rooms feel like a very good 3 star hotel rather than 4 star.
