We didn't enjoy the noisy arguing banging doors and slamming ppl staying in the room near us! We noticed that quite a few left their manners and respect at home! Couldn't believe the way grown adults were attempting to use the hotel as their playground the staff deserve a medal for their tolerance levels and smiling through. They were quick to act regarding our noise problem and spoke to the ppl involved and upgraded our room for our last night with no extra charge as an apology for our interrupted sleep and again everything was clean

The location is great and staff were really pleasant and helpful really don't understand other reviews that pull this place down so much! It's a beach front property so nesting birds and dirty windows are to be expected really at a place so big we made a lovely feathered friend that sat on our window ledge the bath worked just fine everything was clean white towels, white bedding clean empty bins, clean kettle clean cups I guess some ppl are just way too picky

Things that let it down were :- * The food was very basic . Cereals were not brand make and tasted awful. My son complained the hash browns and bacon were too greasy to eat. The coffee was awful and no sign of any fresh fruit. There were no trays to help carry things , which was quiet annoying having to walk back and forth to get different parts of your meal. The windows in the entire hotel were filthy and seagulls were nesting in nearly every window ledge and the noise was awful. After running a bath , it was luke warm. Only to then realise you needed to press and button on the tap to make it hotter. Not many plug sockets for multiple use. The beds weren't very comfortable.

The rooms were not bad , no main lighting , but did have over bed lamps and a lamp on the side draws. A few sets of draws and a wardrobe for space. Also a mini fridge, hair dryer , iron , ironing board , TV, kettle / cups and sachets off tea, coffee and sugar. There was also a fan stored in the wardrobe if needed. There was two toilet rolls provided, along with small soaps and sanitary bags. Towels also provided.

Couldn’t see out of the window as it was covered in seagull poo, the entertainment was right above our room so had 2 children who couldn’t fall asleep due to the music, questionable stains on the carpet and when we came back at 8.30pm we couldn’t find parking!

    The location was great!

Room was a bit grubby, a few small things like the sink having a few toothpaste marks and one of the pillows had some hairs on it, the room was very cold which I didn't expect.and finding the room was quite confusing with so many corridors i got lost twice.

The staff were friendly enough and helpful. The room was fine for one night and the bed was comfy.

The rooms were very tired and in need of updating or at least maintaining. Staff were a little miserable at check in.

The hotels original features and grandeur was beautiful. Great location.

we were not told that the rooms are only cleaned every 4 days, when we asked for clean cups none were provided, we paid extra to stay in our room on our last day but was not told that the fire alarms would be tested, and I find it hard to beleive that there is nowhere you can leave your bags and luggage safely before you need to go to the station.

when we upgraded the room what we got was good, the location was very good.

The room was noisy at night, seagulls nesting right outside window, hundreds of them, very noisy, there was like a loud rumbling sound every 5 mins next to our room, all through the night, just had to get used to it really, no decent soap or shower gel, cold tap was just a dribble in bathroom

The location was great, close to all you needed around Scarborough

The room was dated, furniture and decor needs upgrading, generally a little tlc but what we expected to be fair.

The Grand has an amazing history and first impressions on entering are impressive. The room was clean, and the hotel accepts dogs. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Fantastic views from balcony and ballroom. Location excellent for the town centre and sea front.

Our room was a newly reburbished one and fine. It had everything we needed and was reasonable clean but my grandsons room was shabby with peeling paper and in need of an overhaul. Nice sea view except window were so dirty outside.

The property was in a good location has potential to be a lovely place. It’s clearly been a very nice hotel but is just sad and tired now.. and a little dirty. We stayed in one of the newly done rooms which was fine . We liked the pool table etc and though we didn’t use it, looked in the ballroom which was nice. The had a cabaret act on which although wasn’t too great they had tried to entertain . Staff at reception were pleasant .

This is not the hotel’s fault! But the floor I was on absolutely stunk of cannabis! I did mention this at the seat! Stunk all night. Also I had to pay for premium internet twice as apparently, you only get the area you paid for rather than the whole hotel! This was ridiculous, one payment should cover all areas! That was very disappointing 🤷🏼 completely unnecessary!
