Breakfast was good lots of choice. The room was good with large bathroom and at the rear of the hotel so very quiet. We had dinner at the hotel which was very good. The staff are excellant. Nothing to much trouble.

There was nothing that I did not like. We were warned that parking could be difficult but we had no problem.

The breakfast was very good and so was the bar supper. The staff were absolutely amazing. They could not do enough for us. My husband enjoyed the gym.

Our friend mentioned that his shower could have done with a shelf to his soap on. This is just the only little drawback.

Super location and rooms, we were upgraded free of charge. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced.We only dined in the bar. But thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Check in was delayed by 1.5 hours as room not ready till 4.30 - no offer of complimentary drink or anything which was a bit poor Seating area for a drink small could do will a bigger area rather than the corridor near the bar.

Unfortunately, we arrived for breakfast at 9:30 am so there wasn’t as much variety and things were packed up around us.

Staff were all lovely and good customer service throughout our stay. The hotel is in a lovely location too.

although the booking for 1900 was made by email, this reservation was not made and all knowledge of it was denied. I made it through your booking service and received an email advising message had been received. A phone call was not answered either. Decorations needed dealing with as wall paper was coming off the walls on second floor

The lovely room near the bar with comfy settees and a cabinet of old sports memorabilia (perfect for a chill out with a nightcap) is no longer accessible for guests. Looked like it’s been turned into a meeting room.

The spa

The building was beautiful, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming making it feel reminiscent to an old tv sitcom, where staying in a hotel was like becoming part of the family. Really enjoyed the food, we went for the afternoon tea which was amazing, followed by an evening meal in the restaurant, both were high quality. Breakfast was geeat too, lots of options and done yo a high standard. Nothing waa too much trouble hor the staff who were always on hand to help. Great location for walkkng and visiting Grange over Sands or nearby Cartmel. The only thing that dissapointed was the spa, it really shouldn't be advertised as a spa it was an awkward shaped pool where you couldn't do lengths, a cold tiny steam room, only room for 2 people and only rose to a tepid temperature if that, and the steam room didn't work initially, and only started to once a poor guest poured numerous cups of water on it, having to leave and re-enter repeatedly to do so, so not very relaxing. It's also a tired and shabby area of the hotel, not on the same scale as other parts. I think they'd be better not to advertise it at all, that way you're not going to get dissapointed guests coming for the spa, that isn't a spa. Other than that, I'd highly recommend staying for all other aspects of this hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed it and will be returning again.

I did not like the smell in the room and mould in the bathroom, hot buffet for breakfast, noise in the morning, very small tv too high on the wall, lack of fridge in the room, no heating in the bathroom

Surroundings, especially park with the fountaine, Amazing royal decor of the hotel and rooms, Amazing four poster beds and antique furniture, gold mirrors and elegant very decorative curtains in the rooms; baths and showers in the same bathroom; fans, comfy armchairs, and beds etc. Lovely staff who cared about me and helped me to bring my huge luggage from the gate where I dropped it as was too heavy. They made me fantastic coffee and boiled eggs for breakfast. They did not rush me up with breakfast or checking out; Swimming pool, beauty treatments,
