We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We recently stayed at Greyfriars which is very close to our home. After a small flood in our house. Although we have visited the Hotel for lunch/dinner before, this was our first stay. The staff could not have been more helpful. I asked for a quiet room as I had recently been in hospital. Our suite was great and had a lovely courtyard. I have a special diet, the chef made me a special meal. Overall very good experience

Absolute gem of a hotel and never stay anywhere else when visiting Colchester. Central location, stunning old building with a few modern twists, luxury stay but homely. Staff amazing and good/drinks just amazing. That French onion soup….wow.

United KingdomGreat location to look around Colchester and the carpark was a real bonus so we could drive and go and explore the area. Our room was amazing - we were lucky enough to be upgraded - room was huge & very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Breakfast was lovely - cooked to order so really fresh and lots of choice. We loved it and would definitely stay again.

Our room was upgraded to a suite, I imagine due to availability, which made the stay even more special. The room was very big, clean and beautifully decorated. The bar was a great vibe and the staff were excellent. I would also recommend including breakfast in your stay.

United KingdomWe have been several times to the restaurant before. They do need to change their menu more frequently. Also the prawn cocktail is not good. Pretty flavourless. It is quite hard to mess up a prawn cocktail but they manage it here. It is usually my go to starter but I wouldn't choose it here again.
We got an upgrade! It was a lovely room. The staff are all friendly and patient. The cocktail bar is wonderful and they make excellent cocktails, using the best quality and vorrect ingredients, no cheap substitutes. The bar staff are very friendly and knowledgable. The restaurant staff were very patient and helpful. The food was exceptional.

The breakfast, which was included, was huge and delicious. They had a complementary mini-bar. The bed was very comfortable. The carpeting, curtains, and bedding were sumptous. There were a coulple of restaurants, which were good. The front desk people were lovely and helpful.

Well situated with a car park. Friendly efficient staff, good lifts and dining room. When we reported a problem the staff responded immediately.

Very professional staff with clear explanations and a helpful hand. The hotel was fine, and the room was upgraded free of charge, but some things weren't working properly. Breakfast was delicious!

SpainI think that staff is not used to receive non English-speaking guest so they spoke very fast at first, but then we could understand each other fine.
They upgraded our room without additional cost, and we could enjoy a very pleasant stay, with all commodities available and a good breakfast offer, with lots of flavours.
