We were right in the middle of town, but with a quiet room with a view of the strand. Easy walking to the university, comfortable, very friendly hospitable staff, great breakfast!!

Very dark, poorly lit room, makes the room feel older and dingy than it is. Slight bathroom septic odor. Poor quality construction details, painting, makes thing look older than they are. The bathroom mirror lights in our room didn't work. Loose bathroom door handle. The shower water is extremely hot, it has separate hot and cold faucets, making it very dangerous. Typical deep UK tub is dangerous to step in and out of, even for me, a mountain climber. If you are older, or have limited mobility, don't expect to be able to take a shower.

Excellent downtown location close walking distance to everything you want to see or do in St. Andrews. Free parking in the public lot right next to the Inn, if you're lucky enough to get a spot. Usually, you can if you wait a few minutes for someone to leave. This is a big plus. Large comfortable king-size bed. Good breakfast made to order. The rating is based on the good location, good breakfast, available parking and friendly staff.

The bathroom: the shower had hair on the walls - I noticed this while I was in the shower. I brought this to the managers attention. He told us he brought this to the housekeeping’s attention and they cleaned it. Then he checked it. I told him, the hair is still there. He argued with me, refusing to come with me and see it. He told me people can put hair on the walls themselves. He refused me any compensation. My concern was, how well was everything else cleaned, if there was still hair on the shower walls. The bathroom tap leaked, it could not be shut off. Then it made a squeaking sound for sometime after you had the taps turned on. The toilet didn’t flush very good. There was no towel rack to hang your hand towel on.

The location was great. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The breakfast was good.

Easy check in by a lovely Lady. Had a drink in bar until room ready, reasonably priced and staff pleasant. Room fantastic, we were lucky to get a family room - huge, 2 tvs, everything you need iron and even a safe. Bathroom with bath and separate shower, just perfect.

The walls are a bit thin, noise from the hall and adjacent rooms was noticeable. I wish there were mains outlets accessible from the bed e.g., to charge phones overnight nearby. There were no glasses for water (just mugs for the coffee/tea for which the room had facilities with kettle)

The bed was very comfy, the room was clean; there is a great selection of good at breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful e.g., provided extra blankes

Leaking tap in bathroom. Bath panel was a diy disaster. Shower controls had no visible marks for hot or cold water, shower was either freezing or scolding. Bathroom worktop was damaged and stained. There was a hole in the bedroom wall which was tried to be fixed with a plastic bag and duck tape, it would probably take a joiner 15 minutes to repair. Not a good advert for any tourists.
