Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI was travelling with my partner, my friend and my dog and our room was divided into two: a double and a single, which was ideal for us. The staff was super-friendly, they provided the bed and the bowls for the dog. The location is ideal, close to all the sightseeing spots, with some nice cafes and pubs around.

United KingdomThere isn’t parking close to the hotel. We parked in Southgate which was a 15 minute walk or so to the hotel. It’s not a massive dislike, just carrying bags and in UK the weather normally being miserable, 15 minutes feels like half an hour.
The room was quirky which is nice. Stood out from other hotels. We liked that it had a private terrace where you could book a time slot to use the hot tub. Added a little extra.

United KingdomThe lady on checkout wasn't the friendliest. We said we had an amazing stay but the shower needed a non slip mat because it was very dangerous. We were fine but anyone older than us would struggle and she just said yeah we have mats. But the mat wasn't in our room so it was a strange response.
The breakfast was lovely and it was great value for money! The staff were amazing, I think it was Niamh who checked us in and she made it so personal and even showed us to our room! The room was gorgeous with plenty of space, had everything we needed and more than we were expecting.

Perfect location: plum in the middle of Britain's most walkable city. You are minutes away from everything: the Crescent, the shops, restaurants, locationally this is ideal. Despite being opposite pubs, it was quiet, easy to sleep. We expected to be woken by seagulls, but weren't. Great breakfast, allows you to skip lunch.

United KingdomI think the room we were in was starting to get a bit tired - some scuff marks, paintwork needing redone and some minor damage to furniture. I prefer to have room serviced daily - instead of having to hang a sign on the door to request. Breakfast self serve area was okay but no meat or cheese and only bread available was toast. On the subject of toast on two of the four days we requested but did not receive any! A cafetière would be better than serving small individual cups of coffee - we had to request a second cup every morning!
The location is excellent although no view, but we did not expect that given the description and city setting. The room was nicely decorated and a lot was fitted into a relatively small space. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very acceptable - continental choice small but adequate and cooked breakfast was delicious.

United KingdomWe didn't spend much time in the bar area and we didn't have breakfast there, so we can't comment on the food, but the breakfast did seem quite expensive (£17).
Great location, just a few minutes from the Baths and the Royal Crescent, about 10-15 minutes walk from the train station. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious too, and there were lovely robes for us to use during the stay. It was easy to find and the staff were very friendly.

United KingdomNo parking or even a space to drop off, but accept this is the price you pay for staying in a period property down a narrow street full of character. Long stay parking nearby (Charlotte Street car park) with plenty of spaces made it workable. Lots of steps and no lift mean that it's really not suitable for those with mobility issues, but it is an 18th century building.
Superb location. Lovely little hotel with charming, well appointed room, cosy and warm, spotlessly clean with new fixtures and fittings and well maintained throughout, friendly and helpful staff. Not cheap but definitely good value.
