Although it has had a refit some aspects look tired. No lunch in main hotel so went to golf club for basic options - breakfast was ok but main point is they appear under staffed albeit they do their best. I think it is mainly kitted out for the golfing fraternity

    Great location

The rooms were very dated and overpriced for the accommodation. The walks were also very thin and we were woken by the cleaners hoovering in the next room

location is near to Hawkstone hall, comfy bed, friendly and accommodating staff. lovely food in restaurant.

Overall looking a bit tired outside. It is a huge property and interior has had some work - to do the whole building may not be cost effective

The staff were exceptionally nice. Particular credit to the head of reception who went out of her way to make us feel at home - thank you

Good hotel - took ages to find the premises in the dark!

    • Double Room - Disability Access
    • Stayed 1 night

We stayed in a room with disabled access. My husbands wheelchair was too wide for the corridor doorways (fortunately he can take a few steps so we were able to overcome this). Also the corridor was quite narrow with angles which also made negotiating to the room a little tricky. However the aforementioned problems wouldn’t have been a consideration when the building was constructed many years ago! Once in the room the facilities were fine, the bathroom was roomy and appropriately equipped, and although the room wasn’t very spacious it was OK for one night.

Staff at check/in out were great. Had breakfast in dining area and staff were lovely, attentive and service was quick (but we were the only guests in restaurant)

Price. Originally booked for two persons , including breakfast but arrived alone as a single booking and should have mentioned to check in staff but didn't ( my fault) so it seemed an expensive mistake at my expense. Hard to find. Disability room not what I was advised when booking ( last room available) so open shower.

Good breakfast. Plentiful parking /easy access to room from parking. Local staff friendly, helpful and pleasant.

Room was difficult to get to, up and down stairs and confusing signage. Room was clean but not completely (dead flies on windowsill), door to balcony would only stay shut when using the deadbolt. Reception staff didn’t give full information about breakfast or check out, barely glanced at us when we checked out. Breakfast was a bit chaotic with untrained staff and one person who was rushed off her feet. Also full of golf parties

    Lovely restaurant, friendly bar staff

The hotel was ok but we felt it could do with being painted a lot of the paint work was a mess in the corridors and carpet needed cleaning . The chairs in the dining room had stains on as well. I felt it was in need of a facelift. We had a disabled room , I wasn’t aware I had booked a disabled room but it didn’t matter. But as my husband has been a manager in care for over 30 years the first think he noticed was how high the towels, sink and mirror was any one in a wheelchair couldn’t reach. Also there wasn’t a blind at the window in the bathroom.

Idea location as we was at a wedding at Hawkstone Hall

Definitely a golfers retreat rather than short stay

Was attending a wedding at Hawkstone Hall and Gardens and was given a list of taxi numbers when we checked in as we knew it would be a late one. Unfortunately half the numbers didn't work or no avail taxis at the time we tried to pre-book. We had to walk a good distance back to hotel in the pitch black... Luckily our phone battery had just enough life left to get us back. Room was very dusty and lots of dead wasps/insects around the window sill. Quite noisy at night (thin walls and people in the corridor).

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Food very good, and great breakfast. Comfortable bed however the shower wasn't powerful at all, but bathroom and room generally clean. Definitely a hotel for just the golfers rather than a nice retreat or short stay.

The only issue i had was the drinks prices i have paid less in expensive city center hotels. It wasn't just me who commented on this i heard a group of a dozen or more golfers staying at the hotel discussing amongst themselves about the drinks prices.

Room was a nice size very clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The evening meal far exceeded my expectations It was cooked to perfection and very well presented.

Lovely place to stay in a beautiful location

The walls in the room are paper thin. I was woken at 1am by the loud conversation of a few gentlemen who had obviously retuned from a late session at the bar. I believe they were in the room behind mine. While they were not rowdy I could hear every word of their conversation which went on for half an hour. Other than this it's a nice place to stay.

Due to a mix up in booking arrangements at another hotel ( not their fault!) I found I had nowhere to stay. The people at the Holiday Inn Telford recommended Hawkstone Park. It was an excellent find at the last minute. Check in was really efficient, staff were lovely and we had a great evening meal which was reasonably priced. The dining area is really nice and the buffet breakfast was great. You could actually taste the food! I would recommend this lovely hotel.
