How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Next time, if with my elderly mum I will consider asking for a ground floor room or very close to the lift. The bar area sounds very echoed and loud.
The staff are lovely friendly and helpful I will definitely return.

The shower in our bathroom had little to no temperature control. It was impossible to set the temperature using both taps to something acceptable. Ended up having a bath which took more time when we hadn't planed for it.

The bar area was being refurbished so was unavailable, would have been good to know this in advance.
Good sized, recently refurbished room, excellent swimming pool area, little used during my stay. Good breakfast.

no real bar area to sit / relax ( hotel undergoing refurbishment, so not really their fault..) Exposed water pipes in bathroom with shower unit on wall opposite shower curtain - resulting in tiny space in between & either scalding elbow on hot water pipe, or being enveloped by the cold wet shower curtain….
price proximity bed very comfortable!!

there was no bar.. currently being built which was not good for 30 Welshmen meeting for a reunion. all operated from a table in the restaurant. no Remy Martin no malt whiskey - only Jamiesons or Bells i found the pillows to be too hard, but that’s a personal preference

some renovating works on going, still had a bar on the go, but a makeshift one…
staff were great… and even notified us when my wife accidentally left her watch and kept it safe for us…

Renovations causing residents to have to walk outside or all around the hallway to get to reception and restaurant depending on which side you were staying. No offer to help with bags. No biscuits in room. You had to request to have room serviced before you left.
The pool and size of bedroom. The new decor. The location.

Was having a refurb and we were not told, workmen on site, no where to sit and relax as bar area was being ripped out. Original room was dated and smelt damp.
Receptionist was lovely and managed to swap rooms.

You had to book to use the pool, Sauna and hot tub and we expected it to be quiet but the pool was full of children doing canon balls into the pool at 9am in the morning and considering it was a spa we used the facilities to relax and ended up leaving after 10 minutes due to how busy it was in there. i think there should have been a member of staff on the poolside as it was quiet frustrating. The room was quite basic (no fridge). It was being done up at the time and was like a building site to our room with no paint and rubble, I think this should have been taken off the price as we paid £100 a night and that’s with discount but we did understand that it was just what it was like at the time.
the bed was comfy and good parking, spacious rooms.
