Having to fork out an extra £50 to enter rooms an hour early. Having to fork out £25 to park on site. Bathroom was looking a little tired and in need of some general maintenance.

Sometimes the service within the hotel was very slow especially in the restaurant downstairs.

The location of the hotel and the room. For 3 people sharing a room it did not feel too cramped.

Some of the staff were super pushy to get me to sign something before I could even get in the room and use the loo or get my head together, I'm disabled so parking was just ridiculous, then all the walking was terrible. Getting out, a whole line of us had to sit for 10+ minutes to be let out of massive gates, everyone started getting annoyed. The constant back and forth wasn't fun, the food in the restaurant came out cold, which the really nice waitress did take back and I eventually got hot food, but a long wait and it kinda ruined it.

The room was nice, but so far away from check in, I was exhausted and in pain so in no mood to walk so much, had no idea it was that massive. Some of the staff were okay. Lovely homeless man out front called John, made friends with him while I was out smoking and he was just lovely, saw him the next day along the pier too. Surprised the staff didn't help get him a room for the night.

Even though everybody seemed helpful, some 'solutions' did not seem worthy of a Hilton. Especially Sunday breakfast was definitely understaffed and slow. Everybody sleeps longer on a Sunday so you need to be prepared for more people in the second half of breakfast. Food was stale and some items completely missing/did not get refilled. The 'spare room' that was opened for us because there were no more tables in the main area was damp and smelled like cleaning liquid. interestingly everybody in this room was 'obviously' participating at the tattoo convention.

exactly where we wanted to be, 1 minute to the beach, next to the convention centre. There is plenty of restaurants within a few minutes, and there is parking within the facility.

For the cost, we paid for a slight upgrade, and quality I was expecting it was disappointing. Our bathroom had no radiator, so after showers or swimming there was no way to dry items! It was so cold in there I had to ask On 3 occasions fir a bath robe, as it was to cold to go In. No good lighting for doing make up or shaving and no big mirror. Also, the room had no main light .

The property was a beautiful old building.

The pool area was a huge disappointment. The floors were filthy in the changing rooms and needed a good deal more than a quick mop. The pool is tired with damage to some of the tiles and wobbly steps. The water was cloudy and I exited relatively quickly as I was uncomfortable with the general grubbiness. Glad I hadn’t gone specifically for the pool/spa.

The room was modern and clean. The hallways and stairs were beautiful. Spoke to a couple of the cleaning staff who were extremely polite and helpful. Good, easy access to car park.

I had requested a queen room and a twin mobility accessible room as my colleague uses a wheelchair, sadly this request was not passed on to the hotel, not the staff's fault, but they were able to obtain a single MA room for her. As a point of note, it would be worthwhile those rooms having bottled water next to the kettle as my colleague said she had to balance the kettle on her lap to take it to the bathroom to fill up, which is not ideal and is not wonderfully accessible. She was going to ask for that to be put in the room but was able to cope, others may not be able to. Also in the foyer, the 2 accessible entrances are very narrow and both open inwards, which means there is not a lot of space to manoeuvre the doors for access in and out the building. We saw a few people with larger chairs using it, and were amazed they were able to manage it, and only one of the accessible entrances were in use, so it caused a queue or two over the few days. Also my colleague said that the entrance door to her room was heavy and made it difficult to enter before the door locked again, especially as there is a small lip on the way in the door.

The rooms were comfortable, although a lot of hotels seem to have the softest pillows possible that have very little support. I know I should have asked reception for firmer ones but for 2 nights it wasn't worth it, and the staff had enough to deal with as it was busy. The shower was very nice and powerful, and the toiletries were also lovely and scented well :) The breakfast was decent, it was nice to have the options available and my colleague was pleased to have good vegan options with the room being wheelchair accessible and an offer from the staff that they would help her get breakfast is so needed, but I helped as was happy to. Loved the fact that there was a takeout cup option for the coffee, especially helpful when the conference centre coffee was expensive. Location-wise, it was ideal for the conference centre and a nice morning plod one the front to start the day. We had an issue with the room booking, but that was as the request for a specific room had not been passed to the hotel by booking.com so it was not the staff's fault. The reception staff were helpful, kind and gracious when dealing with issues presented to them, despite other people speaking to them in a less than polite manner, which is never right and I made sure I was extra nice to try and counter that behaviour.
