Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAt the booking, I requested a walk-in shower and early check-in if possible. I got a response about the early checking and was told that checking was at 4 pm, but I could leave my bags with the concierge if I arrived early. Nothing was mentioned about the shower, so I assumed that was a possibility. On check-in, the concierge took and parked my car, and I was given keys to the room. Unfortunately, the room came with a shower over the bath! When I spoke to the check-in staff, they advised that all the rooms had a bath with a shower over. Later, I tried to use the shower but found the bath narrow, and this left me standing on the curved edges of the bath, which was uncomfortable, as I had recently had knee operations. Coupled with the hair in the bath well!!! Later, we tried to use the TV. While they had a large number of pay per view films to watch as well as catch-up TV channels. I had to log into any of these to use them. I noted the lack of Disney+, Prime and Netflix. Undaunted, I tried to connect the smart 65" Samsung TV to my Samsung Ultra. Alas this was not possible. We did notice that there was only one easy chair in the room so fir my wife and I to spend any time in the room ment that we had to sit on the bed. At breakfast on the first day we enjoyed a great breakfast but found the coffer from the push button machine poor. After asking the waiting staff we there brought two lovely cups of coffee from the expresso machine in the bar area. On the second morning, this was unfortunately not possible until we asked the second waitress whom we able to help. Also at breakfast on the second day the fresh watermelon taisted as though it had been cut the day before, was soft and not of the standard I expected. All in all our wedding anniversary break, had been let down by a few details that took the edge off a romantic weekend getaway.
The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable with lovely bedding. The TV was a good size. Breakfast had a great choice and was mostly fresh apart from...

United KingdomWe chose this hotel because of the various fish dishes on the online menu. This menu was not available when we arrived and looking at the hotel menu there was only one fish pasta dish. Advised it was a seasonal menu no longer available but still showing online. We couldn’t change our plans and find someone else to eat as we had tickets to a show. We were also given a food discount card when we checked in. 20% off food for residents. We ordered some starters at the bar with our drinks and gave our room number to add to our bill. The staff did not ask / check for our discount card being we were residents. When we checked out we queried the 20% discount not being applied and the receptionist was a bit surly and just said that we should have shown it at the time of ordering although this does not state this on the card and we were advised it was too late to apply the discount. We didn’t really feel that this was fair, helpful or caring. I like to eat my evening meal where I stay so I don’t think I will book to stay here again sadly.
Lovely large bedroom and fantastic location.

United KingdomWe missed having a small fridge in our room. Which we’ve had at other Hilton hotels. It felt really cold in our bathroom. There was no heated towel rail.
Pleasant hotel. Well situated. Friendly, very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and evening meal. The hotel and our room were both clean. We had a comfortable bed.

United KingdomOur room was a bit tired. The bed was ok but softer at the sides than the middle. Didn’t use the shower but the bath I took was the worst I’ve ever experienced, even in much, much cheaper hotels. Hot water a trickle, gave up after about two inches and sat in it and froze. No shower gel in the container, and placed too high to reach from the bath. Really old, frayed shower curtain, which is rare in modern hotels. Especially one that cost us over £600 for two nights. Also the obligatory valet parking is an absolute pain and very expensive. Hilton you can do better.
Location is in the city centre, but it’s weird having to take two lifts to get from street level to the rooms, as one (or an escalator) goes from street to reception, then you have to take another one to the rooms. There is no escalator down, hence two lifts. This is because the hotel is part of a huge parking complex and basically has no ground floor. Guess you trade convenience for a city centre location.

United KingdomIt was all good apart from the shower pressure wasn’t fantastic. Sadly the fire alarm accidentally went off at about 10.30pm which woke me up as I was beginning to sleep…somehow my children slept through it - it was loud! The hotel were very apologetic.
Amazing location in the centre of the city, very helpful and friendly staff, decent facilities on site including restaurant and bar and comfortable room for a family of 4.

United StatesI had one small issue with the shower drain but I reported it using the Hilton app and the staff addressed the problem the same day. I did need an electrical power adapter for UK electricity to charge my phone and laptop. Not a big deal but I’ve noticed that some hotels have this built in.
The check in process was easy and they let me check in early. The location was good. It was about a 45 minute Uber ride from Stansted airport, which was pretty good. There is also an option to take a train from Stansted airport to Cambridge.
