Check in member of staff was not over friendly. She also took a £25 deposit off our card, even though we had paid in full for the room and you don't allow charges to the room. I did query this at the time but was told it was procedure. I received a call after check out to confirm that this was an error and I would be refunded. I have not received the refund yet. My husband also forgot his razor and we were going to a funeral. Some hotels do have emergency supplies, we would have happily paid. May be worth considering this.

Room was lovely. Brasserie was very good. Great to see plant based on the menu- the option chose by me was exceptional (aubergine). Staff were very friendly and attentive.

We booked twin room with dog. The dog was not noted on the booking. Moved us to another room - but this was a double and not twin. They managed it brilliantly by reconfiguring the zoom. The hot water system failed - hell has no match with a wife without hot water for the shower. The did find another room with hot water which we could use ( they cleaned it everytime someone used it. So hats off to the staff for fixing it once again.

Staff were brilliant when faced with a number of booking errors ( not ours) and when the hot water system failed. Alway friendly and upmost helpful

The magnifying mirror was not fixed to the wall properly. The room, although there were plenty of lights, was still quite dark

Overpriced at £198 night.I stay in many hotels and can give a reasonable opinion. It gives a bad impression to a guest booking in to read a notice saying any drinks,meals,extras other than room have to be paid for as you go along!!! Come on,a card impression is taken at book in. Hotel little off beaten track.

I had arrived in the dark and drove past the entrance as I thought I was going into an equestrian centre. Had travelled from Lancashire.

I booked last minute as I was coming to an impromptu special birthday celebration. I was able to bring my dog, for a small fee and she settled well. Everyone was warm and welcoming on my arrival.

when checking out on my last hour I found a spider which didn’t bother but cause 9/10 things were great about my experience there.

tv didn’t work and my room was near or above a function room which was noisy but it was a Saturday night and it is a wedding venue so maybe I will consider that before booking again

The noise from the restaurant and bar was clearly heard in my room which was quite intrusive. The smart tablet is great for communicating with room service however on one evening it clearly wasn’t being monitored as it took me chasing 3 times and and hour and a half to receive my food order and drink.

The room was nicely decorated and the hotel is in gorgeous grounds. Add to that the food was delicious.

Nothing really. Really enjoyed the stay. We were there for a friend's wedding so didn't get much tie to sample many of the facilities.

Lovely location, with beautiful grounds for a stroll and some quiet time. We paid for an executive room which was very spacious and well equipled.

I thought it was pricey - £200 per night for a decent hotel, but nothing outstanding.

The staff were lovely. I was impressed that all the teas and coffees in the room were FAirtrade. We enjoyed wandering round the lovely grounds.

Hard pillows, lots of noise, music especially, from the bar until well into the small hours (we were right underneath) and really creaking floorboards outside our room and going down the stairs (which was right outside our bedroom and a main thoroughfare) so this didn’t make for the best night’s sleep.

Super showers, friendly reception staff, comfy beds, nice decor, top quality bathroom products Ted as well as coffe/tea items. Buzzy bar.

Thought the breakfast was a bit poor. I had a cooked breakfast and it was undercooked unfortunately and I couldn’t eat the sausage It was pink, no colour at all and really not nice to look at or eat. Also quite cold on the plate so disappointed.

Nothing to dislike!

Lovely hotel where the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Our room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The grounds of the hotel were also very pleasant. Breakfast was good too. All in all, couldn’t have asked for more.

The exterior looks a little tatty in comparison to the interior which is exceptional.

the interior decor was lovely and the rooms were really well located away from the main facilities. the rooms looking over the gardens were lovely.

We had such a warm welcome when we arrived, our room was much bigger than I'd expected it to be and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was spot on!
