Room was a bit rough around the edges and could do with a few jobs doing. TV was needed to be re tuned when we first arrived.

Friendly staff and fantastic breakfast spread, room was a good size and included an iron, ironing board and hair dryer. Ideal location to use the park and ride in to york center.

The double beds are the size of a postage stamp.

The hotel is nice and clean and the staff are very welcoming upon arrival. Checking in was painless. The bar and restaurant areas are clean and spacious. The room was clean, and the bath towels were lovely n fresh. The best breakfast buffet I've ever had.

Room was a little cold - air con only controlled the cooling, not the heat. Instructions said to use thermostat on radiator, but there wasn’t one!

The bathroom felt a little cramped.

The location of the hotel is excellent. We were able to get the bus into York and also to Whitby - The bus stop is very close to the hotel and it was only £2.00 per person per bus ride. We were able to park the car at the hotel. The breakfast was very good and the staff at he reception was very helpful (especially Joe).

All the pillows are very hard and the mattress wasn't comfortable to sleep at all. Food (both dinner and breakfast) were terrible. I can not recommend that dinner to anyone. Too expensive and very bad dinner.

Good value hotel on the edge of York with several bus routes into York - best not to drive in. Quiet hotel with no noise from neighboring rooms, corridor or surroundings. Standard room but comfortable bed and good lighting. Breakfast wide ranging and regularly replenished so hot food is not sat on the hotplate for too long.

We seemed to have afgan beetles in our room, couldn't have the windows open for long as they got everywhere, also the price for meals at night was abit much for what u got.

Room was tired and needed updating. Decor was falling off walls. Room could have been a little bit cleaner. Bathroom was tiny!! Could just about squeeze past the sink to get in and shut the door!! We had our dog with us, we took her to breakfast with us and we had to sit in bar area which was fine but the seating arrangements were awful. The chairs were so low you couldn't get comfortable to eat your food at the table, you had to sit perched on the end of a lounging chair!! I'd reccomend the hotel change the seating to proper dining chairs and tables to allow guests with pets to be able to eat their meals comfortably and practically!!

Staff were so lovely and friendly from the beginning of our stay to the end. Breakfast was lovely. First time visiting York, ut was absolutely stunning, well definitely be back to see more but would probably look at staying at a better hotel, there was nothing specifically wrong with it, just down to value for money for us at the time of booking and location. The hotel can get you a taxi/uber very quickly. My 2 year old fell poorly and we needed calpol, hotel reception didn't have any and the machine in hotel reception didn't sell any, had to get a taxi quickly to tesco down the road late at night.

The toothpaste in a sachet was a bit odd.

We arrived very early from a terrible overnight coach journey from London. The night manager (I forgot his name ) was very kind and helped us check in early. We were a bit late for breakfast however it looked like there was a lot of good choices, something for everyone. We only stayed over one night but everyone we encountered from evening to night staff was lovely. Thank you.

Exceptionally slow service in the restaurant.

I loved the location,the rooms were comfortable and clean, and the free parking is a great bonus. The on-site restaurant is large and spacious, however service is unbelievably slow.

The hotel was somewhat shabby and"tired". The exterior didn't look particularly welcoming - needed refurbishment as did the rooms - curtains hanging at different lengths; mastic around shower tray needed replacing. The room was clean but "tired". The photos on Booking. com are extremely misleading, showing roomy bathrooms which are extremely small and "tight" to move in and an exterior taken at nighttime. A daytime photo would never have looked the same! Frozen fruit for breakfast was extremely sour - fresh fruit would have been a better option!
