Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFirstly, it was not so easy to find. Booking.com states the address is 27 Great Cumberland. But there is no apartment with that address. The actual address is not visible in booking information. Secondly, check in time was 2:00pm, but when we arrived the room is still being cleaned. So we checked in at 3:30pm. Thirdly, the room was too warm. It took us a few hours to cool down the place to make it more comfortable. It was hard since we had a baby.
the location, it’s 5mins walk from Hyde park.

United KingdomVery tiny shared facilities. Sheets were clean but room wasn't. Under the bed was filthy and a receipt for exactly a year ago poking out from under the bed I didn't dare investigate further. Tv didn't work very well at all. Couldn't get in the bed as could feel springs through but luckily weather so hot and no way of cooling room as even with window open the broken blind couldn't be moved, meant I could sleep on top of bed which was actually comfortable. Even a quick wipe of the light switch or door handle wouldn't have gone amiss.
Location relevant to hyde park and the guy who let me in was friendly

United KingdomStayed in 17 great Cumberland mews - it's fantastically quiet for a place in middle of London. The flat is in attrocieous condition. It has almost no windows, TV not working, but the bedrooms are good size and beds are clean and comfortable Leaking shower, damp on the walls, and no hot water, in the morning water started leaking through light fixtures in the bathroom. If you are staying for a night it's comfortable enough but nothing more and you got to be indifferent to imperfections of the place. Pictures are not even close to what the place is actually like.

United KingdomNeeds a revamp. Everything is showing signs of wear and tear. Needs some love. Half of the listed items in the description were not there. Considering its a 3 bed apartment, you would think it would have had the essential items for at least 3 people to use. Nothing was clean. Not sure who is the house keeper. But they don't clean anything. We had a nice surprise in the toilet when arrived and then when we did use the toilet. It was blocked! The shower is constantly leaking but lovely warm water. Location was great but difficult to find. No communication from the hosts and your left outside waiting. We eventually found it after they sent the correct address! If its just used as a base. It does the job.
Location is great. Beds were better then expected.

United KingdomPhotos are misleading. HD photos can’t hide the fact that the condition of the property was not great, overall looked very run down. Check-in process was very sketchy from start to finish: as many others mentioned, the property is impossible to find as it is hidden away in a back street, which made me and my partner feel very unsafe, even though we checked in during the day - I couldn’t even imagine what it would be like checking in when it’s dark. Do NOT book this place if you are with children, alone, or if you get anxious easily; it would be good for a few friends. The man who checked us in arrived on an electric scooter? Quite an informal check-in, he sat down on the chair in our room while waiting for me to sign a document. We wanted to leave as soon as possible so we checked out early in the morning, which we had to figure out ourselves because there was no instructions on where to leave the key! Room was unbearably hot with seemingly no way to open the windows or turn down the heating. Shower door was broken and tap was very temperamental. Bed didn’t look like it had covers on. I would highly recommend avoiding this place, I was uncomfortable from start to finish.
The location and price are the only highlights of this property. It’s situated very close to Marble Arch and Hyde Park, and is within walking distance of the city centre, with an easy tube connection - this was the primary reason for booking. It should only be booked as a last minute place to crash overnight and then leave early in the morning; visitors should expect it to just be a roof over their heads. Trust me, spend a bit more money and book elsewhere for your own peace of mind.

United Kingdomchecking in process, non disclose of the actual location which is behind a mews small walk from the advertised location, had to wait for the guy with keys to arrive over 30 minutes in the cold, he also did not have the room key, Cleaner arrived 15 minutes after with the room key, he was either ill or drunk and threw up while navigating his way around the hotel. I had to take the spare key and come back later,

United KingdomThe pictures shown here are not always of the apartment. The rooms just had beds in and the odd wardrobe, most of the furniture pictured had been removed. The one room was very cold, there was an old door blocked up with furniture and the radiator didn't work. Towels had dirty marks on them and the shower tray was marked quite badly. The silicone was all peeling off and the shower head was not the right height. There were no samples as pictured and the shower in the picture is an old one I would say. None of us used the shower. The inside door handle was loose, there was no tea/coffee which you would expect. It did need a good clean and a bit of love to make it nice.
Location was ideal. The size of the apartment was good.

United KingdomCommunication is terrible. The man who answered the phone was rude and abrupt. They didnt answer any of my messages and when we arrived, there was a very young man who seemed to have just finished cleaning our room who seemed very confused and used his phone to call someone else to check if he should let us in. We waited for an hour and didn't get in until 3pm. The young man couldn't speak much English so it was frustrating that he couldn't explain why we had to wait so long. I wasnt happy with the service at all and wouldn't pay that amount to stay here again. I'd rather walk a bit further and pay a bit more for a good service that felt reassuring. This left me quite anxious.
The location is without doubt the best thing about this place. As long as you are lucky enough to find it, tucked away in a little side street. It wasn't easy to find, but once we knew where it was, it was really close to Hyde Park corner with lots of shops and cafes close by.

United KingdomThe flat is in SERIOUS need of attention and is run by amateurs. The chap who checked us in was working his socks off cleaning the next door apartment ( 17 Gt Cumberland news where you are asked to check in on their confirmation details) but was using his phone to find our booking and the system he was using wasn't fit for purpose - he couldn't find our booking and literally scribbled our details on a blank piece of paper and asked me to sign. On entry to the flat, it didn't seem too bad but on closer inspection it really isn't fit to be let. Our beds were clean but the rooms were ridiculously hot, even with the radiators turned off and the very few windows open. My husband turned the boiler off overnight as there was no evidence of it having been serviced - ever. The shower attachment only reached up to my armpits (and I'm 5'4" so don't get any ideas of having a lengthy drench under it), the tiles and shower tray needed a thorough scrub and there were huge holes in the sealant so lord knows where all that water is going..... There was no plug in the sink (or the one in the kitchen) and when you sat down on the loo, there was a corner of tiling that dug into your thigh. Don't think about cooking there either. Firstly the microwave doesn't work (well, it turns on and makes a lot of noise but doesn't actually heat anything - so where are the micro waves going!?) and secondly, if you did cook anything, there's very little cutlery to eat it with - not a fork or teaspoon in sight. There is no kettle so we had to boil water in a pan on the hob. Honestly it would cost pennies to at least by a basic kettle and crockery/cutlery which would have made a difference. The decor needs serious attention: flaking paint and stains on ceilings, hollow holes in the bedroom wall (from where the door handle has banged against it but so big my teenage daughter was worried something might crawl out of it!
Location was good, a stone's throw from marble arch and Hyde park. Also the beds were clean but that's about the best of it...
