    Beware the local nightclub

The sound of a local night club was bleeding through the walls all night, right up until 4 am. The constant bass made sleep completely impossible. I complained about this in the morning, caveating my complaint knowing the situation was beyond the hotels control. The helpful lady assured me that the manager would be made aware when they returned to work on Monday, my number was taken to contact me. A week has passed and no contact. I paid over £130 for a room that I couldn’t sleep in and a my complaints completely ignored. I expected better from the hotel.

Ibis hotels are always clean and comfortable, which is why I use them if I possibly can.

Good quality French hotel chain right in the centre of Birmingham's China Town

It was frustrating that Ibis doesn't offer a direct line to each hotel so you can make a booking and that you have to do it centrally

About 10 of us had to attend some training in Birmingham. This hotel was in an ideal location in China Town. The staff were very helpful as we had to book an extra room for someone who didn't have a booking.

Location was a problem. I walked and walked but struggled to find the place. Nobody I asked knew where it was. No doubt if you stay once you will remember because its actually very near the shops. The main bus station is nearby too. Be aware that late night arrival is probably best by taxi as I encountered vagrants of varied varieties in the streets surrounding the Ibis.

Breakfast OK but basic and dining area too exposed to main entrance. Food itself was OK nothing exceptional. Room was OK but an ordinary money-making 'Unit' per se. Nothing envigorating about the atmosphere.

It was very noisy at night. We didn't return to the room until gone midnight and there was an awful lot of noise both inside and outside the hotel. The bathroom door was difficult to close therefore impossible to open and close without making noise, this woke both myself and my son up.

The car park may be a little awkward to get into but it's very secure. The hotel is very clean and the communal areas smell really nice. The rooms are small but functional.

With it being city centre location there are a few night clubs near by so can get a bit loud. I always wear ear plugs when sleeping so I was not affected.

Staff were always smiling and very helpful.

The room is not bad but the rug is rough and the bath screen has a gap making the water flow all over the restroom floor. The Receptionists are looking tired.

Well based in Chinatown, near The Gay Village. The housekeepers are doing an amazing job with less.

Room was a bit too warm despite radiator switched off. A lot of heat circulated around the corridors. We had to sleep with the curtains pulled back, exposing our bed in order to allow ventilation from small window.

The room was on a side of the building that had 3 clubs opposite and 1 underneath, so come about 9pm the music was really loud. Closing the window helped a bit but made the room very warm. Luckily, after a long walk along the canal we were both so tired we managed to sleep.

The staff were lovely, really helpful. The room was clean as was the little bathroom.

Parking garage is very tight if you have a medium to large car. Charge is applied separately on check-in.

Stay was good for one night. The rooms were clean and quiet and included amenities like hair dryer and tea and coffees. There was a great selection for breakfast.
