Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hut was gorgeous, cosy and spotless when we arrived. A bottle of Prosecco was left in the fridge for us which was a lovely touch. The views were gorgeous and we had everything we needed within the hut for a couple of nights stay.

United KingdomCleone is an absolutely amazing host with an amazing lodge. The views around the property are beautiful and the property itself so well maintained and picturesque. The lodge is to a high standard and the decor is lovely. There was nothing more we could have wanted. Cleone went above and beyond for us during our stay, she responded to any queries promptly and came to help when we were struggling with the hot tub (our fault). She even came and decorated our lodge after our engagement at Cats Bell Summit. Could not recommend this property and host enough

United KingdomWe definitely didn't have enough wood to heat the hot tub for a 2 day stay. We used all our wood and firelighter allocation to try and heat the hot tub on our first night but unfortunately it never got warm. We then would have had to pay £10 for another bag of wood but that didn't include firelighters so impossible to try and start a fire. We unfortunately never got to use the hot tub which was the main reason we booked. I think if you have to stay for a minimum of 2 nights, you should be provided with enough wood to heat the tub without having to pay for additional. If you are staying here it may be worth bringing your own wood and firelighters.
Everything about the place was lovely - the location was idyllic and quiet (but close to amenities), the hut was absolutely spotless and comfortable and it had everything you needed for a short and pleasant stay. The bed was super comfy with plenty of storage underneath and it was decorated beautifully. The outside space was generous and great for our dog to run around. You didn't feel close to the other hut at all so it was super private.

United KingdomNothing we didn’t like!
We had a lovely stay, we can’t thank the host enough! It was everything we hope for and more! The Shepherds hut had everything we needed and the hot tub was great (it does take a few hours to heat up but lovely once it’s ready!) It was my partners birthday and there was a little sign up and a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate which was a lovely touch. Unfortunately we couldn’t get into any of the local pubs for food but we did go to a pub a 20 minute drive away in Mungrisdale called Mill Inn, which was a really nice traditional country pub.

The hut was spotless! The details were beautiful. The bed was one of the comfiest beds I've slept in! I loved how modern but cottage like this hut felt. The kitchen and bathroom were gorgeous. Both perfect sizes! There was everything you could need. The location was perfect, as we had a car, we drove into Penrith town and others with only 10-20 minute drive. The location of the hut was also lovely and peaceful, with there only being one other hut next to you (nicely distanced) loved waking up to the sound of the chickens and cockerel's, also had some goats as neighbours! The hot tub was easy to use. Would 100% stay again.

United KingdomThe only thing we could suggest is an air fryer, just because there is only a hob and no oven, apart from that everything was perfect!
Very private, hot tub was lovely, the hut was so cosy and modern and it was immaculate. Had a treat for the dog when we got there, such a lovely touch. Plenty of board games etc and a big file of nearby places to eat and things to do. We will defiantly be back, hopefully for longer than two nights next time! Thank you so much - we loved it! :)

United KingdomI have nothing to not like. It was amazing. My only suggestion would be More logs or a maybe a honesty box to buy more logs. The hot tub took a lot of logs to get to the right temperature and I didn’t get to enjoy it as couldn’t get it warm enough.
I loved it all. It was so beautifully decorated with beautiful finishing touches. The bed was so comfy. Loved it so much I’ve booked to go another 2 times this year. Thank you so much for an amazing. My 2 year old loved it on his bike and loved the goats and sheep

United KingdomNothing really. The only thing that we thought would be handy was a drop leaf table to have a romantic dinner at! But this was in no way vital to the stay.
We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay at Inglewood. We stayed for my partner's birthday and half a lovely birthday surprise waiting for us, thank you Cleone. The hut itself was immaculate and very well equipped. The hot tub once we managed to find the ideal temperature was a lovely addition. Inglewood is in a perfect location to access walks. We didn't eat out and found lots of shopping options within 10 minutes drive. It was very peaceful and quiet at night. Very good value for money.

United KingdomThe hot tub takes forever to heat on day one. No chance of getting in on night one but once you have heated it up over the first night it is very very quick for night two and will hold its temperature well for the next day. Cheap logs and kindling in town to help with this!!
Such a lovely and cosy place to stay. The hut had everything you would need and was beautifully set out. Even a banner and bottle of bubbly for birthday celebrations. The hot tub was perfect even in February, Prosecco in the evening and coffee in the morning!!!

United KingdomUnfortunately we found that the hot tub took a while to heat. We arrived knowing this and thought we would be prepared to heat the hot tub as soon as we arrived. However, unfortunately it took 5 hours to reach to 30 degrees. Luckily the next evening, it took 2 hours to reach temperature. An oven would have also been useful however I understand that the space is tight within the hut.
Gorgeous setting, great location ideal for access to the Lake District.

United KingdomNothing, we enjoyed it all!
Fantastic property which had everything you needed to have a self contained holiday. We particularly enjoyed the fantastic views and log fires which made the hut cosy during stormy nights. We did battle two storms during our stay however the host was fantastic and allowed us to have stress free evenings. The dogs loved the hut (particularly the underfloor heating!).
