Our room was underneath the main reception room. So very early in the morning we was awoken by alot of noise from above us.

Didn't get to spend long enough there!

Stayed here 1 mught on way from London to Fishguard... Booked this late when we were let down by another hotel... arrived 10.30pm with a dog in tow... wet and tired... Lovely warm welcome, lovely room! Breakfast next morning was lovely.. Location was lovely Carmarthen is lovely... Can safely say we had a lovely time!!

Our pillows were rather hard and the view from our room was of the carpark. Although a nice view is not vital, it's always a boon. People tramping past from 5 am, not being noisy, just going past on their way out, a constant stream, meant a good night's sleep was out of the question.

The central position is great. Although the decor is a little old-fashioned, our room was perfectly adequate with plenty of space, it was nice and warm, clean, comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

It is a pet friendly hotel, but we couldn’t take our dogs into the bar or restaurant. We had to sit outside which is under cover on a terrace in the smoking area and we don’t smoke! It was raining and a little chilly eating our evening meal outside. There should be a dog friendly area within the indoor restaurant out of the cold and where we can relax to have a drink too. So many pubs/restaurants and cafes are now dog friendly Please amend your policies.

Breakfast, good choices and friendly staff. Room clean and comfortable. Didn't have any other meals there except for breakfast, but menu looked comprehensive, including options for all dietary needs. Good location for centre of Carmarthen and train station.

Sadly the rooms on the ground floor are incredibly noisy, especially when the dining room is open and you can hear everyone walking around. A couple of the towels had long term strains on them which was less desirable.

The only bug bear was the state of the decor in my small room, with peeling wall paper in the corner next to my bed and the base of my bed had chunks missing from the upholstery - which looked tired and shabby (poor first impression for a weary business person/traveler like me). Instructions for the TV would have been very useful as I couldn't get it to switch on - perhaps a loose wire ? I eventually plugged TV into the other socket & got it to come on, but could not work out how to select the correct channels. A bit frustrating. NB. The FIRE SAFETY Poster which should have been on the back of the door had fallen off and had been placed under the hairdryer in a drawer in the dressing table. I believe this is compromising Health & Safety regulations. So I used the Blutak on the poster and reattached it to the best of my ability. PS A sign for the lift on the wall adjacent would be useful as the doors are concealed round the corner - I only found it by accident on my last morning. The Hotel was brilliant, convenient for my office. The Breakfast was first class, and the service of the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Value for money was great and check-in and out was efficient and without delays.

The rooms and hotel were a bit tired. The TV in the bedroom didn't work, there was an iron but no ironing board, the heating has ancient, toilet seat was loose and there was a shoddy paint job. Mainly cosmetic things but clearly could do with an overhaul to modernize.

Friendly staff and great location. Breakfast was lovely as was evening meal.

The pre booking in did not work And despite my request prior to our visit for a room close to the lift with walk in shower. On arrival we had been given a ground floor room down several steps they did change it but it was not near the lift. Decor in the bedroom was poor and the shower sealant needs some attention and the handle came of the shower door Screw sticking out of bathroom door lock Tea and coffee but not biscuits

Had difficulty in finding the hotel as signage was not that clear from the road. Room was not as indicated on the Web. Room 68 was in the basement with frosted windows overlooking the car park. Did not have the listed coffee machine and the wardrobe had no doors . Not the room we expected but did the job for one night. They state on the key card to book direct for the best rates. When I phoned them before booking they were unable to compete with the rates offered by Booking.com.!!

Room and bathroom was spotless and bed was comfortable. Prices for food and drinks were very reasonable and staff very friendly.. Breakfast was very good with a large selection of food. Would use this hotel again.. Cost was very competitive .

The bed was uncomfortable. The TV only worked on a few channels and the room was a bit deceiving from the pictures. If it was a bit cheaper perhaps that may have been acceptable. You would expect more for the price.
