How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The beds were not great plus the hotel WiFi was very spotty. The decor wasn’t great and we found mouldy bread and tins of spaghetti in one of the chest of drawers
It was convenient and cheap for what we needed it for. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The bar downstairs was very welcoming too with the pool table.

.Second time staying first time with the family, would definitely recommend to family and friends staff was polite and friendly, hotel clean and well presented, rooms was a little small but still cosy enough will definitely be booking again.

None of the rooms had en suites, had to share the toilet and shower with 4/5 other rooms, there was no sink in the toilet, the hotel wasn’t the cleanest of places either
It was in a good location for all the attractions

The room a bit out dated, no cupboard space for a family to hang anything apart from a little hook on the bedroom door. One side of the shower cubicle was missing but could still use it. It's true what they say get what you pay for.... 3 nights for £100 for a family of 4 so wasn't expecting the Ritz 🤣 Locks in the bedroom could do with proper locks on doors instead of latch keys so your room is more secure. Would I stay again yes..... To support the family trying their best to run it.👍🏻
The location was great right near the tower. Bedding and towels clean.

Creeky floor boards.Scruffy carpets.Very old looking room.Shared facilities (which we knew about) very dirty shower.Noisey toilet door.But in all that I was charged £19.80,and checked in 3 hours early,needs updating,good luck for the future

Good location, owner was lovely and we was warmly greeted. Rooms are very basic but you get what you pay for. Beds were clean and comfortable. Kettle and coffee etc available. Bar in the hotel was great too.

Door catch was broken on arrival but they fixed it straight away. No remote for TV, so needed to change channels manually, which wasn't so easy when tiny buttons don't do what you want them to do and your up and down all night finding something you want to watch. Noisy neighbours and decor needed sorting.

I don't think you could expect any more for the price. Maybe if you have back issues and couldn't cope with a rather worn mattress (although I slept perfectly well) or if you couldn't cope with the stairs to 2nd floor, or needed the toilet a bit closer to the room there might be reason to reconsider but if these are issues, or you are fussy about decor, you could always pay more elsewhere.
It was loads better than some of the reviews suggested. I was glad I had not been put off. It was warm, dry, quiet enough to sleep, clean enough, inc bedding, with a functioning lock on the door and shower well hot enough. I had a kettle with tea bags, coffee, milk and sugar and, what I did not expect for the price, a tv which was a bonus. If budget is main consideration, this was convenient and fitted the bill very well.

The room wasn't clean and it was shared toilet and shower room toilet room being on our floor and shower room on floor above didn't use the shower room,the window in room didn't close properly and there was a big hole in the wall near the door,although it was value for money as we paid 20 pound per night

Everything was OK just the music coming through we ended our trip a little early as kids couldn't settle was a little loud till early hours
