How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Paid extra for late checkout (hoping for sleep in). Cleaners talked very loud outside room for a least half an hour while cleaning next door room which sort of ruined the experience. Most of the staff very helpful and friendly
Close to train station. Welcoming staff. Was able to use wifi in pub next door for business meeting while waiting for room to be available

If I’m splitting hairs… The room was a little hot and stuffy. There was an air conditioning unit which cooled the room down nicely, but sounded a little bit like a helicopter was landing on the roof.
The location, in a picturesque corner of Nottingham city centre, walking distance from the event we attended. The hotel was lovely, clean, we were upgraded for free to a larger room. The staff couldn’t have been nicer.

Booked twin bed room. Had to wait 24 hours for king bed to be split. Bathroom sink tap leaked. Shower temperature was never more than lukewarm.

WiFi sadly didn’t reach our room (courtyard) so reliant on mobile data. ‘Personal’ pizza appeared to be a frozen oven pizza which is fine but a bit disappointing if you’re expecting a higher quality, fair pricing though.
Great location, Clean, courtyard offered a lovely outside space.

We stayed in toom 103 and we couldn't lock it from inside or out. Which was concerning
Very comfortable room in an ideal location for a very reasonable price. Breakfast was £15 but exceptional value for what we had. Cereal followed by cooked breakfast and unlimited tea / coffee

Didn’t like location of the room at top of the building. The mattress on the bed was uncomfortable for us both.
Loved the location and all the little touches, water and chocolate and great breakfast. Staff we welcoming and pleasant.

Breakfast unfortunately not as good as expected.
The waitress at breakfast was a delight, Very pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately some of the breakfast was dry due to being overcooked or left to one side, which spoiled the experience. There weren't any Decaf tea bags in the room but the receptionist found some for me in the onsite bar. We felt a little let down that the on site bar didn't do any food in the evening apart from pizza, which meant that we had to go further afield for something to eat.

One of our blinds on the windows was unfortunately not working, as in not possible to open, which wasn't too disrupting, I'm just a fan of natural light!
Room was cozy and suitable for its price. Very central (almost everything within walking distance of about 15 minutes) and close to Warhammer World with the tram. Delicious wood oven pizza ordered and delivered to our room late at night which was exceptional. Very sweet note on a card and little surprise left by the staff when notified that our weekend trip was for a special occasion!

No nice restaurant or bar before when we stayed there was a lovely bar area open until late which is where the restaurant was. There is now only a pub joined on which doesn’t go with the feel of the hotel.
