Breakfast was traditional fare and filling. Location in respect of the railway station was perfect, so close. Room was basic but had everything you could need and exceptionally good value, apart from the whopping fee that Booking.com took!

Light outside restaurant opposite shone through the curtains all night. Decor was a bit scruffy. Ensuite unit was small - this is not a complaint because I knew that beforehand and it was fine for me because I am a small person, but be aware it would not be comfortable for a large person.

Welcoming, helpful staff, e.g. I asked for some decaffeinated coffee in my room. They had run out but they went out and bought some specially. Breakfast was fine. Location was handy for Windermere station.

Not a lot. Maybe the en-suite needs updating, but it's clean and functional, and that’s good enough.

The check-in is fairly straight-forward as the hotel already had the details of the booking. The staff gave me the keys and directions to the room. The breakfast hours were explained and that’s it. The hotel is family run and I found them to be friendly and welcoming both during check-in and breakfast. The hotel appears to be a converted house and the room definitely looked like it had been converted with the addition of an ensuite. Bed was clean and comfortable. The room also had the usual amenities such as kettle, cups, tea and coffee etc. There was also a TV, although I never had time to use it. The ensuite had a shower, which was functional. There was a tiny amount of mould on the silicone, but nothing gross. The ensuite was clean and functional, and that’s good enough. The breakfast is fairly typical English fare with vegetarian and non-veg options. The food was served from a buffet, so you should have no problem filling up for the day ahead. Location wise, the hotel is on High Street and more or less in the centre of Windermere town. Plenty of supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. There’s a parking lot in front of the hotel that can fit maybe 4 or 5 cars.

The heating make some strange noises , but it can be controlled , it was only a few time that disturbed us .

My room for one person is too small for comfort. Bur there is TV, hair drier , heating and cleam shower

Andy is very knowledgable and entertaining. He made ua laugh along the drive. He is the owner of lake lidge and his wife is a good cook. He helped us to have a tour with small group and reasonable price . I kmow its a big sacrifice for him to go with big car only for 3 people with half price of other tours ask. I kmow he did this mere out of kindness. We will never forgive you and your yummy breakfast. Brewed coffee is a must and bacon is not salty and crispy

The window opens up to the street. Not a big problem but can be slightly noisy.

The owner was friendly and we chatted over breakfast. She also offers good advice on things to do in Windermere or nearby. The room was very comfortable and well maintained.

The property was fine and did exactly what we needed it to do for the right price

The owner is a straight talking chap and made me laugh. other reviews say he is rude but I disagree, he just says it as it is. The breakfast was very good and the owner went above and beyond when we were leaving allowing us to leave bags and left keys with us to get into the hotel and reception in case they weren’t around when we got back

location was prefect for local shops and great restaurants with a handy free car park. Our room was spacious, light and comfortable with all facilities you’d expect in a B&B. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere in the dining room was relaxing. Finally, the owners were very friendly and welcoming.

it was like taking a step back in time but in a plesant way. The single room although small had everything a guest would need. Breakfast was delicious. Andy was a great host too
