How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

No charging ports next to the bed, no lockers on the rooms. The gluten-free options at the breakfast could be better, however they do have a separate gluten-free table. The room card had demagnified itself a couple of times so I had to request a new card 3 times...
Staff were very helpful, the bed is okay. Location is close to the center.

Not really any dislikes.
Room was perfect for our 1 night stay. Really comfy beds, basic room but that’s all we needed, clean. Great location and great value for money.

The major downside was the bed. It was so firm that it actually made me ache about half an hour into sitting on it. I'm young and shouldn't be feeling those kinds of pains when resting on a bed. Given that the bed is the key part of any hotel, this problem would make me hesitate on whether I'd stay here again.
The place is very nice and updated, everything in the rooms functions well, the climate control was excellent and worked quickly, shower was good as well. The room service option and the restaurant and bar are nice as well. Very good access to the main town centre without being so close that it's too noisy to sleep. Staff are lovely as well.

Safety deposit boxes only in reception and only letterbox size available. You need a member of staff to open it. Bit of a pain going in and out. Would have been nice to have a fridge in the room. It’s called superior but didn’t feel superior. No drawers, just an open wardrobe with a ledge. Power sockets far from bed which is unhelpful if you want to charge and have phone by bed overnight. I don’t think it was value for money compared with other places I’ve stayed
Good location, short walk to town. And pretty good view from 6th floor. Clean and housekeeping did a good job replenishing everything.

At breakfast there were not enough staff to clear tables and keep crockery stocked up. Restaurant looked messy. Scrambled egg like rubber and only tongs to pick it up with!
Reception staff polite. Room good value.

Rooms felt a bit clinical, could have more home comforts, maybe an additional chair. But aside from that, nothing!
Excellent choice of pillows on the bed in terms of softness etc. Very standard in terms of facilities, but did the job for a night. I was really high up too, which was pretty cool for views! Would definitely stay again if I needed another overnight stay in Derby.

No opening window in the room. I don't remember having to pay to park previously, which was slight disappointment.
Everything is ok. When it was branded as Jury's Inn, I had repeated issues with air-con not working. This time it worked and only turned itself up to 21 degrees once.

Only one bath towel and one hand towel for two people. We managed but had to share towels. Also breakfast- items came out very slowly and one item at a time. We gave up and just had toast and a croissant.
Friendly staff, easy check-in. Room clean and comfortable.

The lighting in the room was poor. only wall lamps and no actual ceiling lights. Telephones in the room need to be updated. Does not affect the functionality just needs to be modernised.
The guy the checked us in was really nice. Very welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. decent size. On check in they have a spinning wheel where you can get an additional bonus/gift... Very nice touch.

Breakfast was fine but staff were not quick to replenish so we options were poor. Staff were quick to check us in but didn’t take any time to explain the hotel. We all ended up on separate floors.
It was close to where we were visiting. Good value for Money - we had 3 rooms Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. There was a decent bar which served food before we went out.
