Bedroom windows were filthy, and the mattress was extremely lumpy and uncomfortable. The carpet wasn't fitted properly, floorboards creaked everywhere and felt like the whole room was on a slope

For us, the location works very well, being just the right walking distance from the main attractions. It was peaceful and quiet during the night, even with the window open. The bar and evening entertainment area is nice and the staff were helpful

The floor was not clean. the cleaner had gone home so we was offered another room. This floor was the same. I think maybe there is a problem with the vacuum cleaner. At the time I said it was fine because the room we was offered was cooler and brighter then the first and we didn't want to keep complaining when I don't think moving again would have solved the problem. The rest of the room was clean apart from a couple of hairs in the bath tub.

The staff are really nice and helpful. The breakfast was good and we was allowed to sit in the lounge with our dogs.

Floorboards creaked, doors were so heavy and it was a pain getting to and from the lift with our cases because of the steps you have to go up and down to get to it

Close to the town, and because its just set back from the prom not so much noise from outside, buffet breakfasts were spot on, only had scrambled egg on offer but if you ask for fried or poached they will accommodate you, staff really friendly

Evening meals not good bland and over cooked no glasses at night had to have my vodka and coke in a half pint glass not enough seating area for the night time entertainment no walk in for restaurant at night two sittings only long queue for drinks at night not enough bar staff had to pay for car parking but it was advertised as free parking ?

The breakfast is very reasonable plenty of it I just don’t agree that you can not buy a ticket they sell for 4 drinks for £12 because we booked by booking .com and not Caledonian but when I have looked on the internet they only do coach trips from Scotland and teeside so while they can get drinks for £3 a pint other people have to pay £4.80 a pint which seems unfair because you have paid to stay in the hotel but just made your own way there instead of going on one of there coaches.

For the price paid is not really worth grumbling about very minor issues but at a push it's worth giving the cushioned material on the edge of the headboards a clean from dust.

Great location - all staff were really lovely and friendly. Our room was huge, had our own bathroom. Breakfast was excellent! Plenty of friendly guests, was a good atmosphere. Would definitely stay again.

Parking charges different from what’s on booking . Com Booking .com says it’s £6 per night but £12 at hotel hotel says it is going to look into it Took the car out of hotel car park as was going to be charged £12 for overnight parking even after showing price shown on booking .com site Hotel says there are 2 different prices depending who you book with Shame really as everything else is really good here would definitely recommend this hotel regardless of this as it’s great location hotel and staff

Lift access,flooring in room above and lack of soap.

Lovely reception staff on arrival made us feel very comfortable and dealt with us very quickly. The lift was a bit small,and queues for it,(but we probably arrived along with everyone else),so we used the stairs to the second floor. Rooms were clean,but out of soap in the dispenser in the bathroom, also the floorboards in our room squeaked quite loudly (as did the room above,at six am in the morning).

We were moved to a sister hotel due to the broken boiler in the Caledonian. The beds were not comfortable. No onsite parking, which we required, and the shower trickled water. The Hollies is where we eventually stayed.

Staff were wonderful. Food very good. Good priced drinks in hotel. Very very clean rooms.

We were on the third floor and had no hot water and the shower didn't work had to boil the kettle to get hot water told staff

Building a little tired and could do with some maintenance especially outside. It's a shame the hotel parking wasn't included in the price.

Great location for walking along the seafront. Friendly staff. Comfy bed.
