How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Shower in room 16 is broken, net curtain was dirty. Myself and my family can't have dairy, an alternative milk would have nice in the fridge. It's a shame the hot breakfast is gone, I was with ye in 2017, we had beans and thick bread. No option now. This is my 3rd time staying here, I would be back but I'll bring my own milk

Some eye for detail is missing: - sink drain was not closing off - toilet seat was loose - ventilation in the bathroom had a collection of dust. This shoul have been cleaned - a light bulb was burned out - the cleaning crew is rather loud when performing their activities in the morning as if they haven't realized people are still sleeping. I was surprised when i was sitting in the lobby and saw them throwing dirty bed linnen down the stairs ending in the lobby. I think this could be handled more discretly.
In general the accomodation was good, it was clean and employees are willing to help. Even though the hotel parking lot was full the reception desk allowed us to loan a personal parking permit for street side parking.

I really like the location and the friendly environment of the hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious. This is my second time staying in this hotel and I will be happy to stay again.

It would be beneficial to hoover the fitted carpet thoroughly. It is a non smoking hotel but someone smoked in this room earlier.
Staff at the reception was kind. He was helpful over the phone and welcomed me with a smile when I arrived. Area is safe. Close to amienties and walking distance from the train station. I booked a single room which was big and nicely decorated. Ambience was amiable. Grat value for money for last minute booking. Excellent and secure place for a solo traveller.

It was noisy at night as the Royal mail depot is across the road. In saying that, I would defo stay again. It's cheaper than a cab from Norwich to Stalham.

No hairdryer in the room.

Only shared bathroom rooms were available at the time of booking, which was fine really.
Perfectly comfortable place to stay overnight for a work trip. Friendly and helpful staff at the desk, thorough explanation of how to use the keys, and booked a taxi for us. Close to the train station. Clean, warm, bright rooms.

The only issue we had with the room was that the toilet didn’t flush but we didn’t want to make a big fuss over it. Also the parking was permit only which didn’t affect us at the time of day we arrived but it could be problematic for other stays.

The bathroom mirror was too high. We didn't require breakfast, but no mention was made of it at check-in, although information was available in the room.
The location was convenient to the city centre. Free parking was available.

Just the fishy smell in bathroom

Our only criticism is of the bathroom. The motion sensor light did not turn itself off, the shower had weak flow and there was no temperature available between luke warm and scalding hot, the shelf had come off the wall and not been replaced, and the toilet seat was not securely attached.
Excellent value for money, friendly and helpful staff, good central location, and a very comfortable bed. A free parking space was available for us.
