We arrived early to check in and was told to wait in the bar and they would come and tell business our room was ready. We waited over an hour before going back to find a Que and our room was ready but nobody came for us. The room and some stains on the carpet and one strange on in the bed. The kettle didn’t work in the room and I was unable to get a cup of tea in the morning.

Very close to the universal studio tours and clean hotel. Convenient for our purpose of visit.

I have stayed at this hotel for many weeks now and the only two areas that need looking at are: the dinner menu does not have a great range on it (very few options without chips) and the maintenance of the rooms is quite poor. Every room has a minor issue ie certain lights not working or usb points don’t work, little things but surprising for considering the price that’s charged.

The staff make or break a hotel in my opinion and most of the staff are very pleasant and friendly, excellent members of staff that I found was George who is very professional and is customer focused and also Paula from reception who always makes me feel a valued customer.

Rooms are small but have everything you need. Most staff lovely except the bar man who was dry and didnt smile once. Hotel carpets and the pool area are well overdue a clean up / refresh. Reception didn't tell us anything about breakfast times or how to access the pool etc upon check in. Our room wasn't on the breakfast list and that was embarrassing but the hostess was very nice about it and sorted it out for then and the following morning. In the room, there were some hairs on the bedding and the lamp didn't work. The milk in the room was off, got replacement and was same again so gave up on that and didn't get to use the tea and coffee facilities the entire time we were there. Hotel lacked a nice atmosphere. At one point I put my own music on because there was none in the bar/lounge area and it made it very strange to relax or get comfortable in.

Most of the hotel staff were pleasant, friendly and chatty and engaging with kids. Beds were very comfy and the view beautiful. Location handy to Harry Potter Studios which was the reason for our visit. Food in the restaurant was nice enough. Breakfast lovely.

Size of the room - too small Bedding didn’t seem fresh. Coffee facility is poor. Tab water was quite cloudy after a boil So had to give that a miss - surely hotel Of that size and how busy it is can afford a nesprresso coffee machine Bathroom didn’t have a clean feel to it. Toilet seat could do with a replacement and good upkeep after as all stained TV - Netflix wouldn’t work Room walls are paper thin so can hear all Sort of activity taking place in the neighbouring rooms Staff at reception- we had an issue with our room card not scanning and upon bringing this to the attention of the staff member they didn’t seem bothered and questioned why it wasn’t working as if we would have the answer Restaurant and bar - too overpriced for what they serve

The scenery outside and the location to the WB studio.

I want to see the pool area improve. The photo does not match at all. Paint falling off the walls, no deck chairs, ceiling hanging and collapsing, poor lighting, mouldy pool cover suspended which could just simply be got rid of and binned. bad smell in the changing rooms. It would take no effort and very little money to actually make it half decent again.

The location of the hotel is great, lots of parking. The garden and grounds are beautiful. Rooms are clean and modern, we had a nice view of the garden where we spotted dear. Staff were overall very friendly. There was one lady who could perhaps put on a braver face and not behave as if she is there against her will.

The restaurant menu was a little limited, and at times the staff were thin on the ground. Unlike most hotels we had to pay for breakfast there & then and go to reception to pay. All hotels I have been in before would usually add it to the room bill. We prefer the choice of deciding on the day if we will have breakfast in the hotel or not.

The location was quiet. The staff were very pleasant. Grounds beautiful. The pool was handy, and although it needs a bit of TLC was perfectly fine to use. The rooms were clean and everywhere looked as though it had been recently decorated. All the staff were great, and seemed happy.

High price, room was quite tight.

It was a nice, warm place to stay. Close enough to the Warner brother Harry Potter studio, however still a 10min drive to get there. Not really walkable for most of it as you're pretty much in the road. Buffet breakfast was good. Great bacon.

The walls were very thin! I could hear the room next to us watching The Simpsons in the morning.

The room was decorated well, very stylish. Didn't go in the main Manor building but that was beautiful to see from the outside. The grounds were well kept and lovely.

The room was a lot smaller than expected, considering it was a superior king room, it was small and not worth the price I paid. When I got into the room, the bathroom smelt like cigarettes like someone had just been smoking in there, went into London for the day, came back and the room had been cleaned, however, the bathroom smelt like smoke again. The shower head holder was also broken and had sellotape on it to hold it together.

The hotel in general was amazing to look at. The gardens and the inside were lovely and the staff were really nice and friendly.

The pool facility in the smelly basement was in a very deteriorated condition and there seemed to be no cleaners allocated for the shared unisex changing / shower area as it was VERY grime. Breakfast was of low quality and assisted (not served..!) by random casually dressed people who did not appear to have any relevant competency skills.

Some lovely features in the building design

The room we had this time was on a corridor where there was ongoing painting. This meant it was a little noisy in the day, and all you could smell was paint.

The only slight downside was the lighting; it was either on, in which case it was too bright, or off. There wasn’t the option to have the lights dimmed or partially on. Although there was air conditioning, I could not manage to get comfortable since the room was quite stuffy in the night. Lastly, the staff at the desk need to be more welcoming. They barely give you their attention when checking in and leaving - a minor point but an important one nonetheless.

The hotel is set in wonderful surroundings and set back from the road. They were in the process of refreshing the paintwork throughout the corridors, which was a positive sign and not at all inconvenient. The room was small but contained all the necessary comforts and more besides - we had a portable ironing board and iron stored in the wardrobe which was a nice bonus. The bathroom, although tight for space, was very clean and modern. Overall very good. Breakfast was okay. It is perfectly located for trips into London and the Warner Bros. studio tour for Harry Potter fans.

Poor signposting. Finding my room was difficult given the lack of direction. Huntsman bar wasn't open when it said it should be. Very little information in the hotel regarding things to do in and around the hotel. Breakfast was poor.
