Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere were a couple of times, late at night, when other hotel guests above us were noisy, loud voices and moving of furniture. As with any hotel, soundproofing can be an issue.
Location and room were excellent. The staff could not have been more helpful. They were always smiling and ready to assist in anyway they could.

FinlandAmazing view from our large lakeside room and probably the most perfect location at the edge of Stresa center. The hotel was close by the attracrions and restaurants, but still nice and quiet. The staff was just great - so friendly and helpful. Not the largest hotel, but it cozy and charming. The Italian brekfast was plenty enough for us - fresh, tasty and good value. We will come back.

GermanyWe had a lovely stay and the staff was extremely nice. There are two breakfast options, we chose the breakfast which you can enjoy in your room, and we absolutely loved it every day. We asked for a few adjustments since we were travelling with our baby, and the staff made everything possible. The location was perfect - it was a short walk into the centre, you were right at the pier (we also had a lake view), and there was enough parking in front as well. We can absolutely recommend this hotel and will definitely come back!

United StatesBeautiful hotel, perfectly located in Stresa! Our room was so quiet, comfortable and charming, and we loved having breakfast delivered to our room and eating out on the balcony with views of the lake. Great restaurants within just a couple of minutes walk of the hotel, and the boat dock to go to the islands was basically across the street. The staff was so helpful and welcoming. We only wish we could've stayed longer!

United StatesThe elevator from street level to the reception area was a bit small, even for a European hotel. It also required you to hold the button continuously to operate. We tended to just use the stairs.
We had a very nice, large suite with a balcony overlooking the lake. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They must have noticed from her passport that we checked in on my wife’s birthday and they sent a bottle of Prosecco to the room with a birthday message. The location was convenient to both the ferries and to many restaurants and gelato shops.

We absolutely loved this beautiful hotel after a busy, hot two and a half weeks in Spain. Everything was perfect from the lovely people at reception, the spacious, beautiful one bedroom apartment with views across the lake to the welcome wine and water bottles. As well as a large lounge, kitchen area and large bedroom we also had a large bathroom and a second large toilet and basin area-fantastic! Thank you to this beautiful hotel and staff for an excellent three-night stay. The hotel is close to the harbour for boats to the islands, shops, restaurants, and the Parco Pallavicino gorgeous zoo, park and villa next door. A beautiful hike up to the villages behind Stresa begins just behind the hotel. Staff will do anything to help you and the continental breakfast is great value.

United StatesNot much really. I suppose the entrance to the place was hard to find, as it is a doorway, between gas station and property management office. Yet the sign a above street level is obvious. Just a few minutes of looking.
Hotel del Luna is a good find for smart travelers. On the main strip of hotels facing the lake, yet down the street far enough not to be pretentious. It is located steps from the ferry, and an easy walk to anything in town including grocery store (Conad, Carefour Express), restaurants, parking, and the boardwalk. The train station is a good 20 minutes walk, but safe and doable, even with luggage. Parking is plenty on both sides of the street, and a informal lot next to the small wharf. There is also paid parking at the ferry station. There is a gas station under the hotel (yes, the advertising picture is photoshopped), but it doesn’t distract, and may be convenient. The hotel itself is meticulous, and well cared for. The staff is excellent, helpful, and answered all my questions. They were thoughtful to give us a night key to enter the property after they were gone fore the night. The room we stayed in had a full kitchenette with all amenities and dishes, stove, kettle, pots, sink, microwave, fridge, and even dishwasher. It had sleeping for four, and a balcony with a view. By far, the breakfast was the best experience here. A little expensive, but luxurious, with a view to the lake, sitting outside! The preparation was nice with it being personally made and brought to your table (rather than buffet style, as in many hotels). The dining terrace was meticulously landscaped to complete the experience! Well worth the price.

AustraliaThis is the place to stay in Stresa. Fabulous quiet views over the lake. The views and tranquility were only surpassed by the friendly , professional staff. Carlo, manager ,and the rest of the team , assisted with everything we needed - locations to visit , gaining tickets and arranging transport . They provide an incredible tasty breakfast , and you will not have to eat until dinner ! The facility is spacious , clean and has self contained kitchen facilities. The added bonus for any traveller is the laundry facility on- site. On the street waterfront , the local restaurants and shops are at your footstep .

United KingdomI genuinely can’t think of anything other than perhaps the housekeeping in the bathroom might have been slightly better but that’s nitpicking.
My wife and I were made to feel so welcome from the minute we arrived at the hotel. I was keen to see Scotland’s World Cup rugby international but we were hungry! Carlo found the game on a channel on the tv in the bar and served us some lovely snacks to accompany our wine!! As a first impression difficult to beat and so it continued throughout our stay. Carlo and his staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing too much for them. Our room/suite was fantastic with everything you could need and the Italian breakfast was incredibly reasonable and a really good way to start the day. Our view over the Lake from our room and balcony was stunning and all facilities and amenities in Stresa just a few minutes walk from the hotel. We had an amazing holiday and much of it was due to La Luna Nel Porto and all associated with it. Fair to say, too, that there is a really good selection of fine restaurants within a few minutes walk. I can’t recommend the hotel highly enough👍
