Our radiator was pumping out heat all the time. It was a known fault.

the key cards are always deactivated in all days and I had to solve that problem via reception even when I am at the door, I turned to reception.

A little disappointed to be overlooking the car park. Some things could really bring up the standard such as repairing loose bathroom floor tiles, cleaning off marks on the wall and giving the bath a thorough clean.

Grand Manor House with some lovely areas like the bar and library. Our room in the main was spacious. Loved the pool, sauna and steam.

The room was very basic and old for over £100 a night. I expected more than a travel kettle and some instant coffee. No fridge. Bed is a small double and the mattress seems fairly old and was too soft for my back - you can also feel every time your partner moves so it wasnt the most restful night. The room, whilst cleaned daily had lots of areas that could use updating like mouldy shower screen edges (e.g. inside the plastic edging) and huge cobwebs from the ceiling along the walls. Id say it wasn't worth the price and doesn't really deserve more than 3 stars. Staff were very quiet and mumbled when asked questions about allergy options at breakfast. The hotel has a confusing layout and the reception staff didn't know the shortest route to our room, sending us off on a longer journey only to later find a direct staircase back to reception.

Lovely area and grounds- looks pretty from the outside and has some nice areas to sit inside and out. Pool, steam sauna etc were a nice added extra. Breakfast was okay Gluten free things kept far away from gluten containing things.

The food!!!.

The dinner and breakfast were the reason I would not return. Overcooked bacon, liquid scrambled eggs etc. Tastless dinner. Such a shame all else was very good.

My card key didn't work properly and I had to have it reset at reception, but I still had problems getting into my room.

I liked that when I was going to my room a member of staff saw me with my bags, and took me to my room and helped with with my bags. It made me feel valued.

The surrounds and decoration make it seems as if you're staying somewhere where quality counts but I didn't find this for any of the rest of the hotel. The reception was efficient but not particularly courteous or helpful. The duvet was thin. The breakfast was very underwhelming and there was pratcically no provision for gluten free (one pack of pre-sliced bread left out on the sideboard), despite responding that a gluten and dairy free breakfast would be available, and what little service there was at breakfast was not friendly.

The room was a lovely size and the hotel is nicely decorated. It's in a good spot for the Harwell campus, a short taxi ride away.
