Nothing bad - this was a very good hotel stay.

Used the hotel as a bit of a luxury break on the journey north after a family Christmas. Weather not good so didn't get to see/use the outdoors, but the hotel is really nice. The rooms (standard double!!) are extra-ordinary - the largest I have stayed in & probably double the size of usual standards, with a large bathroom too - and the rooms are nice too, not just spacious. Staff were helpful and the bar & restaurant food was good, as was breakfast.

Perhaps few people stay as tourists but it would be useful to have some Tourist information at Reception in hard copy. It's a new area for catering but could they kindly stock some alcohol free wine in the bar? Signage is good and it's very easy to find reception. Not so easy going to some rooms along the beautifully furnished corridors. Remember what turn at each antique!

Room was huge. Air-source heating was really good. Breakfast comprehensive and porridge cooked at request was delicious. Reception staff really helpful. We wanted to visit Doncaster town centre and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel which made it very easy. There is also a Park and Ride a mile further on but it didn't look much used. Evening meal was good. Ample parking. Lovely gardens and good local footpaths at the right time of year.

Exceptional value here : had a Junior Suite, with a 4-poster and jacuzzi for some £140 - absolutely the best Best Western I've stayed in. Enjoyed a great meal, fairly priced and a great atmosphere in the bar / restaurant (best to book as I saw people being turned away, even if you are staying) and friendly staff. Didn't have time for breakfast but suspect it would have been good. A most pleasant surprise!

Perfect stay, just what we needed. All the staff so friendly. Jane in the restaurant not been there too long but she went above and beyond to make my partners birthday special. He loved coming for the first time and having all the added touches from the hotel was perfect something we both was not expecting.

The room was amazing extremely clean, reception were very helpful and the food was amazing especially the salt and pepper squid.

The room was beautiful but the flooring was cold and there were no dressing gowns or slippers in the room which made it very cold at night. This is my only criticism.

Beautiful location , well maintained hotel and very professional but friendly staff. Breakfast was hearty and drinks reasonably priced.
