Our granddaughter would like to have had waffles and pancakes as an option at breakfast! The location was perfect for what we wanted. The staff were excellent.

The chef is excellent. Our second stay here and it didn’t disappoint. All the staff are brilliant, helpful and friendly. The pool area is great as a decent size pool and not too busy. Bar area great with local atmosphere.

Breakfast was quite good and the service was friendly and helpful. The area that was not quite as good was the room as it felt damp and musty. Having said that the heating in the morning and the use of the electric heater made a big difference. Quite a bit of mould in bathroom, though all essential areas were clean.

The room was very plain. A picture on the wall would be a nice touch, plus a few hangining hooks for coats & towels in bathroom. Our Standard Double room was tricky to get to. Through the dining room with suitcases then up a flight of very steep stairs with heavy cases. Also traffic on the busy main road was noisy at night. Lorries, heavy goods vehicles especially, travelling at 50-60mph was a surprise & spoils, the tranquility we expected from a rural hotel.

The Hotel was lovely for swimming & relaxing in the Spa. Massage was great (if a little pricey for back only) Having to book swimming sessions was a bit of a pain but not impossible. Hotel is very handy for walking up Pen y Fan, though the weather was against us last weekend & we had to quit 15 mins, from the summit.

For such a beautiful location, the rooms are very dated and the women's changing rooms

Decor of Room was outdated. Bathroom was basic, no shower curtain, walls were flaking paint, plumbing on toilet was noisy. Room was basic. Pool was looking a bit tired. Missing tiles and windows need changing. Good effort but requires some investment in rooms and pool.

Restaurant andFood and bar are excellent. Restaurant is immaculate. Spa is very good. Pool is very good and relaxing.

The hotel needed money spending on it . It looked very tired . There wasn’t a ‘proper’ shower , you had to have a bath .We booked a package in the spa … a 50 mins massage and 25 min facial (Elmis ) we were finished in an hour , this was £110 . We did query this (, felt like we’d been pushed through quickly ) and we were refunded £20 .If you were to book spa treatments I’d just ask what exactly you were going to get for the money

For the price per night of the hotel we were a little disappointed at the tattiness of the hotel. The lino in the bathroom was coming away, there wasn't a proper shower head, no bath plug, no soap to wash our hands. The furniture was very dated. The chairs in the breakfast room were all peeling. The carpets in the hallways were threadbare. Everything is in need of an update.

The staff were all great, very friendly and breakfast service was fast and efficient. We had a kettle, tea and coffee and two bottles of water in our room which was fab. The bedroom was a good size. Plenty of parking and a good location for walking up Pen Y Fan.

Looking a bit tired in places beyond the restaurant, especially in the bathroom. Shower head was a bath attachment without enough pressure to drive water through the shower head. For a 3 star at £100+ a night I feel the bathrooms should be high up the list for a refurb.

Really good food, although that should be expected for the meal prices being charged. Nice breakfast.

The rooms need upgrading desperately. Our room had a slightly damp feel and could have been cleaner.

Rooms were in need of a refurb, especially the bathroom, Shower attachment hose on the bath leaked badly, no hook to attach it on the wall either. Corridors were grubby, carpets worn and ripped with lots of cables taped in the corners. £135 a night is too expensive for that quality of room I'm afraid.

Paid £215 for 1 night, room was the biggest disappointment, tired looking, carpet was stained, handle on wardrobe missing, squashed spider on ceiling, material blinds were broken and this room was meant to be superior so really glad I didn't book standard room. Definitely not worth the money I paid. Not even a fridge in the room.

Found the room a little grubby and dated. There was a black leather sofa in the room, and all the leather was flaking off, it looked really bad. Walls in the room need painting. Bathroom sink taps were stiff to turn on.

Great location, very picturesque. Evenings menu was a little expensive but tasted great. Good shower.
