Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo breakfast options, but was given recommendations. Granny's cafe did a lovely breakfast near by. We stayed in The Helm, it was comfortable but I was disappointed in the bathroom to find the grout between the tiles on the floor had been removed and patched up in other places, the whole floor needed work. Was uneven to walk on.Also holes in wall tiles where something had been removed, Also the front door didn't shut properly at the bottom and I was worried it would be drafty. I felt abit let down as the acomadation was a surprise for my partner until we got there. (By the canal) Also the bedside tables were dusty and there was spiders roaming around over the bed. Maybe we were first people to stay in that room this year? I feel I would have complained if I'd paid more money but thought I paid a fair price for the Bank Holiday and we heard in the bar that all rooms were booked out. So we wouldn't have been able to be moved. We would stay again if passing again, but needs a few jobs doing around.
We liked the location, great for a walk along the canal. Free parking, staff were friendly.

United KingdomBlinds could have been better to keep out light so I'd bring a face mask if a light sleeper. Better pillows would be an improvement.
Really welcoming and friendly staff. Great having a pub just across from my room for drinks and dinner. The food was excellent. Very lovely scenery of the river and lock overlooking the countryside.

United KingdomThe room was really cold on arrival and didn’t heat up quickly. It was pleasant by the next morning but sadly we had to leave. Perhaps the heater could have been on before we arrived to warm the room up ? The pub was situated on the main road, which was difficult to cross because of the heavy volume of traffic.
We enjoyed the evening meal and the waitress was very efficient and pleasant. However they did not provide any breakfast.

United KingdomThe heated towel rail in our room was not working, which meant that we had to have extra towels. We also initially had problems with our TV. The former could not be fixed while we were there (hence the extra towels); the latter was resolved quickly and efficiently.
Clean, comfortable, well-furnished room; polite and friendly service; breakfast was very good.

United KingdomWith the rooms not located in the main Pub building and located at the far end of the car park I would have felt more secure with a mortice lock fitted on the doors not a standard Yale lock, I never left anything of value in the rooms when I was out due to this. Some could say I was nit picking but worth noting all the same.
The location was superb. I had the small breakfast which was included with my booking this was far from small and very good. I had a meal at night this was also of good quality. The rooms were small self contained units but very comforable. These were situated at the far end of the car park.

United KingdomThe bed and bedding could have been more comfortable. The grout/seal looked like it could have done with replacing in the bathroom.
The location is amazing overlooking the river. The food at the pub was fabulous. The staff are super friendly too. We went to Silverstone so it was close by to that. The room was a good size and nicely decorated.

United KingdomHairs/insects in room so could have been more thoroughly cleaned. Wasn't aware of £6.50 surplus charge pp for bigger breakfast before ordering, would recommend this is printed on the menu.
Friendly staff and service, room feels like a private cottage, picturesque view outside whilst eating dinner, the big narrowboat breakfast is great to fuel you for the whole day especially if you're going Silverstone, remote area so handy to have a restaurant on site.
