The hotel was tired looking and the reception was slow. Breakfast could have been more inviting.

Liked the location and the spa facilities were available if wanted. The restaurant was good.

The only thing that was disappointing for me was the coffee at breakfast, it wasn't the best at all. I think maybe invest in a proper hot drinks machine.

We stayed in a family room which was spacious and clean. We particularly liked the balcony, somewhere to sit and enjoy the warm weather, and although it looked directly over the pool area it was still relatively private. There was plenty of choice for breakfast.

On the second morning, there appeared to be a shortage of staff serving at breakfast and the topping up of milk, butter and other items was slow.

false advertisement regards the room and the appearance of the actual block where our room was

false advertising The pictures don't show that your room is actually in a block at the back of the main building "This looks like something from 1970s Butlins, holiday camp" However, the room was spacious, clean, and a reasonable size this is the only reason we didn't demand a refund

The food was disappointing. My wife's Caesar Salad was made to a bizarre recipe, bearing little resemblance to this classic standard. My fish finger sandwich was bland, dull, and meanly filled. To be fair, though, the chips were excellent. Breakfast was very limited, with self-service in a cramped and gloomy little side room. The coffee was nasty. This is a great hotel, let down by its poor catering.

A great bedroom with a balcony overlooking the pool, huge, extremely comfortable bed and a large bathroom. All spotless. The thermal, spring-water pool is a treasure.

There was stains on the carpet and in general the hotel is a bit dated,

We had a garden annex room, so we were able to park literally outside our room, so it was easy to take our bags in.

Family guests seem to be situated in the 1960s (?) Extension of the original hotel building. In essence, this is fine but loses the charm of the original building in which we were expecting to stay. In addition, the rooms smelt slightly damp/under used.

The location was ideally suited for visiting Matlock Spa and Gullivers Kingdom. Plenty of parking spaces. Pleasant reception and bar

Some of the facilities are a bit tired. Ironing board given to me was shabby and I wasn’t even offered a robe at the spa (I’m sure I heard the payment covered that).

Cozy room with very comfortable bed in a quiet neighbourhood . Room was clean and serviced daily and had everything needed for a standard bedroom. Staff seemed pleasant and helpful. Restaurant staff were quite attentive and helpful. Hotel is not far from train station and within good proximity to the main attractions in Matlock Bath I.e The Heights of Abraham, Matlock Aquarium , shops e.t.c. The lido was the icing on the cake for me. Enjoyed the swimming pool + very warm reception at the lido.

Stayed in another part of the hotel which was a trek to get to the pool. The pool opening times were not great could have been earlier and later ie it was 9-5pm

The window frames in hotel room could of done with a touch up to make the room more unique and to hopefully put in a lift for someone who’s disabled.

The breakfast could of been better, like to be honest for a guy who loves a good decent all day breakfast rather than just toast and cereal. That would of made it better.
