When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that we need to pay a deposit directly to the hotel (can’t pay it via bookings.com). This was not included in the booking info, so it seemed a bit dodgy and the hotel has a policy for extra charges (e.g. lose key cards, cleaning services - all extra). We managed to get all deposit back at the end, so it was fine although it’d be better if we could know about the deposit in advance .

The apartment is well equipped with everything you need, including kitchen, washing machine, and a small table if you need to work (we did). Location is good, about 10 mins to the beach. Room is reasonably tidy and quiet.

No car park/dedicated parking space so we had to park on the road in front of the hotel or around the corner. The wifi signal wasn't great in our room (able to connect when sat by the dining table but not when on bed). The double bed was too small/short for my partner who's 6 ft 4. As we were on the third (topmost) floor, the seagulls' noises were too loud for us especially early in the morning.

Good location (short walk to the beach, pier and restaurants); friendly staff at reception; very clean room with modern amenities (a smart TV, fully functional small kitchen, nice bathroom/shower with LED mirror, loads of electrical outlets with USB ports).

A few little things could be improved on. Making sure the soap dispenser in the shower/toilet was empty and refilled same as the shower dispenser. Only one roll of toilet roll for a family of four. We know we could’ve asked for more but that’s not the point. The reading light over one of the beds didn’t work and was coming away from the wall. As the floor were not carpeted maybe a small stand up dust pan and brush would be helpful especially when staying with child. We personally like to keep where we stay nice and tidy as it’s respectful.

Location was excellent. Facilities were good. Bathroom was pretty small. The toaster fused the electrics multiple times, we gave up and used the grill (after reception was closed so too late to swap the toaster, luckily we found the fuse box)

The bathroom door was abit too stiff to close and the door wasn’t that sound proof so felt like people could hear in that wound be walking around. The lift was out of order if that’s an issue but wasn’t for our stay. Also had to pay a deposits when we got there but was quickly returned so wasn’t an issue.

I liked this hotel for being right near the beach , a 2 minute walk to get there was a highlight. Also the fact that it had a kitchen as well as a double bed and clean bathroom. Also no one interrupted our stay which made it peaceful and didn’t feel unsafe.

Faulty air conditioner

The hotel is well located and the beds were confortable. The staff was very professional, helpful and friendly. I stayed in a room with 2 bedrooms. Sadly the air conditioning didn’t work properly and it was an extremely hot night so the room was unbearably hot. The second bedroom has a velux windows with no blinds so in summer you have the sun directly in your face until 10pm… no ideal when you want to go to bed early. Overall the room was clean but we found a couple of items dirty in the kitchen (cutlery, glass and the cheese grater) so we felt like we had to wash everything before using it.

There didn’t appear to be an ‘on duty’ manager present during my entire 3-day stay (or at least Nani at the reception desk was unable to identify such a person when I asked). Had a few minor maintenance issues which were quickly responded to, and the internet dropped out occasionally for anything up to 15 minutes. One small suggestion – where a washing machine is provided it would be good to provide some washing powder/liquid too. Having to buy a full bottle for a few washes is a complete waste as nobody would stay long enough to use it all up. It would be a very small expense in the overall scheme of things for the hotel and would improve the visitor experience. Be aware that it is a pet-friendly hotel, so there’s always the chance you will get a noisy neighbour! I was concerned about some reviewers sayng they never got their £75 ‘damage deposit’ back (which seems excessive by the way). I did not have an issue with this - it was 'charged' to my credit card, but not 'processed' and disappeared within the stated 14 days, so perhaps people should check their statements more carefully or, as I did, lodge a 'disputed transaction' claim with their bank. Not great customer service from management to respond to those people in the manner they did and 'ban' them just because they complained - they weren't going to be returning anyway and it's hardly likely to encourage others to visit! Perhaps they went to the Basil Fawlty school of management!

Location is fantastic, just a few minutes walk from the seafront and theatres, and 10 minutes to the town centre. Room 104, facing the rear of the building on the ground floor, was clean, modern, quiet and very comfortable, with almost everything I could need. The staff are very polite and try very hard to be helpful. Really enjoyed my visit and would definitely consider staying here again.

It would be nice to have some bigger signage with the hotel name so it’s easier to find and the green fire exit light in the room is a bit of a nuisance as it’s quite bright and the room isn’t pitch black.

Nice friendly check in staff, great little kitchen with everything included so you can easily make your own stuff, nice bathroom and beds, and very good location, walking distance to the beach and restaurants.

The location is perfect for the tennis tournament at Devonshire Park. Very well equipped. Would have been good for a longer stay. I arrived early and the manager was helpful in finding a room where I could check in before the appointed time.

We booked a budget room so was a bit cramped but this is to be expected. We probably would have needed to upgrade if staying for longer. No amenities outside the room e.g. bar, breakfast etc. but again as advertised.

There was a ceiling light just inside the door to the room that was permanently on which made it difficult to sleep because it was in the same room as the bed.

It was in a good location near Devonshire Park. The room was comfortable and we weren’t disturbed by any noise from the corridor or other rooms nearby. The members of staff we met were all friendly and helpful.

The location is better than Id anticipated. It was extremely convenient. The water pressure on the 3rd floor wasn’t the best. The bed was a little hard for my taste but my daughter found it to be fine. We stayed 2 nights. I was expecting the room to be cleaned on the 2nd day but it was not.
