Areas are currently tired and TV remote didn’t work but this was mentioned on departure and the receptionist patched through to housekeeping to get fixed immediately.

Close to town. We are returning guests and they are in the middle of a hotel refurbishment. So although the hotel looks tired I’m sure it will be returned to it’s former glory in time

Room not as clean as I'd like (bathroom) ! But over all not bad. Our only issue was the ridiculously Expensive bar! Three pints, a j20 and some nuts £33 !

The location was ideal with amenities in walking distance. The building itself was lovely and the rooms were spacious. The bar was a lovely area.

A definite need is signage, we found our way down several corridors to our room but on three occasions could not find our way back to reception.

This a rambling hotel in several adjoining buildings, everything was fine and could not really criticise anything, just felt it could have been better in décor etc. Nothing however would deter me from staying here again.

The bed was huge and comfy but there is no place for two singles being pushed together - regardless of the price. It just makes it very uncomfortable for one person. Also if there are parties on downstairs be prepared to hear it until it finishes. However w did enjoy the stay overall 😊

We booked last minute and the price was very reasonable considering the size of the room - which was vast. I read the other contents about it looking dated but I could see where the improvements have been made and I found it very clean and of a high standard. The breakfast was of a good standard and the staff were great. The building is in a great location if you are looking to venture in to the town and there is free parking. We are looking to go back for NYE.

The hotel is like a maze, quite easy to get lost but a few more signs could easily solve this. There was also an event on both nights we were there and the music was very loud until shut off at midnight. It was a bit disruptive and it would've been good to have been made aware of this prior to our stay.

The room was very big and the bed was comfy. Hotel staff were all very lovely and kind, amazing service. Good food options and good location, and the building itself is beautiful. Rooms are kept clean and there are good facilities. Overall a lovely stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a weekend getaway.

The hotel looks very tired in parts and is in need of refurbishment.

The hotel was warm this visit and much more comfortable as a result. The food was good and the staff were excellent. So friendly and welcoming. They remembered me from a previous visit and the receptionist went out of her way to make this stay a really positive experience.

Not a complaint only a recommendation.....Only had 1 bath towel per person - a hand towel too would be nice for hair washing but I am sure if we had asked, we one would have been provided. Breakfast was a limited buffet, OK if you want warm & cold food but a bit pricey if you just want a coffee & cereal.

Good value for money, good location with ample free parking, spacious room with good facilities. The bedroom was not the most up to date in decor or furnishings but that is of no consequence to us. The bedding and towels were new and of very good quality.

All the staff we met were very welcoming, particularly to our young children. Due to it being an older hotel we expected it to feel quite tired but our room was in good condition and features like the sash windows gave it character. We had a large room for our family of 4. Breakfast was a standard buffet, with plenty of choice.

Building is showing its age, there's quite a bit of cosmetic work that needs to be done on the hotel.

People were lovely, and obviously keen to make a good impression. Had dinner, all went well. Room was warm and comfy (November)
