Jane the owner was amazing, so welcoming. Our suite was total luxury. The 3 course evening meal we had was out of this world, the chef has skill. The location was breathtaking.

What a hidden gem!! Views from this hotel were breathtaking. Rooms very comfortable, suites here look amazing, sure to book again. Comfortable, peaceful, lovely break. Food here was lovely too. Great value for money.

This place is exceptional, the staff is like a family, the rooms are very large with everything that you need is , we had breakfast and dinner , both were really good but the dinner was exceptional. I recommend this place to families. We will definitely return.

EVERYTHING, from arrival to departure the staff were amazing, so friendly, room was exceptional, with incredible views across the river to the hills and mountains beyond. food in the hotel is fantastic too.

I did not like NOT having a good internet connection which I needed for the work I had to do. I did not like being woken both nights at 2am by the TV in our room suddenly bursting into life, apparently this has been a problem for some time. The owner does not understand why the TV is suddenly coming on at night.

The staff were energetic and committed to pleasing the guests. The waiting staff, Chloe, was marvellous. There are beautiful views from the property

Everything thing was Just Perfect

Absolutely Wonderful place to stay. The owner and her daughter were perfect hosts. Nothing was to much trouble. You are made to feel very special. The rooms were lovely. The food was amazing. I have never been to Plas Maenan Country House before. But without doubt, I will be returning. Thank you once again.

This is a 3star hotel posing as a 5 star. The room cost £228.85. It was small, dingy, view into out buildings at rear. There were towels from previous occupants on back of bathroom door, no fridge. No room service

The only staff member we met was superb, could not have helped more. Were it not for him I think we would’ve been extremely angry about staying in this place.

This is not a 5 star hotel. As a 3 star absolutely fine (with one exception - breakfast service was abysmal for any stars).As a 4 star not quite up to scratch. As a 5 star woefully short. Nothing about it says 5 star. All the little things you expect were not there. Most telling? In answer to the "was everything ok" question, they were not interested in the feedback. I rarely give reviews at all. This last thing drew me to review. A five star hotel would, if nothing else, give a damn what guests said.

Breakfast was pre ordered the night before but still took up to 40 minutes to arrive in a morning. It was inconsistent in what was on your plate and how well it was cooked. Warm juice and inedible avocado. No view from our room. The service was poor except for one waiter on our last morning. Terrible attitude of owner/manager when we complained about a noisy fan below our bedroom window. Uncomfortable beds, towels like sandpaper and what appeared to be mouse droppings between bedside table & bed. Should not be advertised as 'Luxury 5 * accommodation'!!! An email was sent giving feedback over a week ago but apart from an automated acknowledgement no response has been received.

The location is spectacular. Having a drink on the terrace watching the sun go down over the mountains is highly recommended. Easy access to mountains or the coast made it a perfect base. Really friendly staff who made you feel very welcome. A proper fruit platter for breakfast was a nice touch. And they do a take away breakfast if you need to get going. Space outside for kids to explore and kick a football around so they were happy too

Difficult to say as everything exceeded our expectations!

Fabulous view of the mountains Room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable . Nice choice of food and wine Steve, the hotel manager was very friendly and attentive and really made our stay very comfortable and memorable. I want to especially thank him for this. Loved feeding the hens!!
