Not much I didn’t like. Perhaps would’ve liked complimentary biscuits on tea tray. After a long journey and for this standard of hotel I sort of expected them.

Your electric (lights) only stays on when room card is in the electric slot. So when one person leaves the room, you have to choose if to take the key and leave the other person with no light. Two cards should be offered in the instance

The pillows were rather thin.

The hotel was modern and well-presented. We received a warm welcome at reception and the receptionist was able to provide lots of useful information and assistance. Dinner at the Collage restaurant was very good and there were additional cooked-to-order options at breakfast. River views from our room were superb.

The cost of drinks was high and the room service extortionate.

It was OK however the butter was in one large block. It appears you are supposed to cut off a piece to use however the plates are hot so this would instantly melt or if you butter your toast at the station you put crums all over the butter that other's have to use

There was nothing that we didn't like

We stayed at the hotel for one night. The room was spacious and overlooked the river. I had ordered a bottle of prosecco and beers to the room as it was part of my husbands 50th Birthday treat. We had a lovely little surprise of some little cakes, with a card saying happy 50th Birthday. It was within walking distance of the centre and there were some nice little walks along the river.

The hotel is located on the river just a short walk to the city centre. My room had lots of space and comfortable. I liked the coffee table and chair by the window in particular. The bathroom has everything you need as well as being very clean. The breakfast was really enjoyable with lots of choice. Lastly it is possible to use the spa facilities as a guest. There is a pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, which is a real added bonus for a stay.

Bit confusion over room service for evening meal.

Good location, have to pay £14 or so for Car Park, great views from 2nd floor bedroom over river seeing Cathedral and Castle.

Breakfast was chaotic, whilst there is a notice in the lift explaining the busy times for breakfast, having watched how the staff were organised there could be a lot of improvements made which would improve the overall experience.

The hotel was clean and the staff extremely helpful and polite. Check-in was quick and easy, although I had checked in online we still had to check in at the reception upon arrival.

It feels very dated with some worn furniture and rooms basic with grating colour schemes . No gown or slippers in higher grade room. Air con didn’t work very well . Soap dispensers in bathroom almost empty. No mini-fridge although ice bucket and ice machine in corridor . Nice pool and sauna/steam room although sauna smelly and few guests remarked on this .

Perfect location by river and short walk to city centre . Large airy reception and few outdoor seats . Staff very friendly and helpful. Super breakfast which we all enjoyed. Tea and coffee facility in room.

The steam room wasn’t working, there was a big crack in our sink, some of the plugs didn’t work, the cooked breakfast was good but the croissants and pain au chocolates were very dry and to us, inedible and the dining room was too hot to the point we left before we were full.

It’s tired , dreadful design and colour scheme. Grubby seating in restaurant/ bar . Public areas resemble airport lounge .

We paid for breakfast on the last day and it was disappointing. No decaff coffee, complete chaos with people queueing and getting in each others way for hot drinks and toast. Hot water for the tea was not hot.

The room was great. Bed pretty comfortable and nice and dark. We had a great river view and everything was clean and tidy.
