Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property is immaculate and homely with all facilities you would require. The garden and surrounding countryside is beautiful, remote and quiet. Bree and Henry were wonderful, they made us feel very welcome and couldn’t do enough for us, we would love to return for a short stay with our children.

United KingdomRame Barton is the perfect place to stay if you are attending a wedding at The Fort. It is within a mile away and taxi drivers are happy to take you this short distance. It’s too far to walk in wedding attire and a bit blowy. Whilst this was the nature of our visit, I would love to return and explore the area along the costal paths. There were walking maps in our apartment. Breock recommended The Canteen at Maker Heights for breakfast (the best I’ve ever had and a great spot on the coast). The apartment was lovely and had everything we needed and some lovely unexpected extras such a biscuits, real coffee and brownies. The bed, pillows and cotton linen were super comfy. Breock was the perfect host and made my husband and I feel very welcome and comfortable. The house is beautiful and set in a fabulous spot. Lots of deer on arrival and chickens round the back. Would definitely return. Thank you so much Breock

Lovely spacious and modern room! Very clean and good bathroom. Easy distance to the coastal footpath for walks. We were there for a wedding at Polhawn Fort and this was a great distance for that! The owners were lovely and they had a cute little dog wandering around! Very spacious grounds at the front of the property if you want to relax. Very good wifi! It’s about 20min walk into Cawsand along the country lane or less than 5 minute drive with cheap car parks in town.

Rame Barton is a beautiful property - the photos don't do it justice. We stayed in the 2-bed apartment - 2 generously sized bedrooms, a huge bathroom including a bath, a family lounge (with smart TV Netflix etc) and a very well equipped kitchen (Including decent tea & coffee that lasted our whole stay!) There is also free wifi. The décor was flawlessly sympathetic to the era of the property and the bedding & towels felt particularly luxurious. Bree was a great host, laid back, friendly and added in fine details such as a pint of milk in the fridge, artisan apple juice for the kids and some lovely biscuits. We were even given some fresh eggs from Brownie & Blackie (the resident hens) that made for a great breakfast. The gardens are stunning & large. There were a couple of rope swings that kept the kids suitably entertained. The location is very rural, and walking around is difficult with young children but if you don't mind the hills and have some decent walking shoes the scenery is worth it. There are also quite a few nice pubs within a few minutes drive. We felt really welcome at Rame Barton and would love to return for a laid-back break with (or without!) the kids.

United KingdomWe had a lovely 3 night stay for a wedding at Polhawn Fort nearby. Bree was so warm and welcoming after a long drive. The house is beautiful and the 2 bed apartment was a really good size for 3 of us. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we especially appreciated the local apple juice which was delicious. The house is really well located for the Fort and was an easy 20 minute walk back after the wedding (though plenty of uphill so flat shoes are recommended!) We would absolutely stay here again.

United KingdomIf you are a person who can find fault with a place like this then maybe you should lower your standards or increase your budget. ;)
We were greeted with a very warm and caring welcome. The clean and friendly reception was much appreciated after 9 hours of driving. The enormous room was just what we had hoped for and it was easily large enough to fit a family comfortably. The quality of everything in the room was well above what we expected but this only enhanced our stay. We had such a nice time in this beautiful house we are possibly going to visit again when we can.
