Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe road was quite busy but fortunately not at night and the double glazing did an excellent job of keeping road noise to a minimum
Paul and Melissa were both very friendly/chatty and Melissa particularly gave us lots of useful info. re. local foof outlets etc. View was superb from room, wow. Breakfast was excellent. Room was well equipped and although some may consider its smallish it is clearly a feature of period cottages built in the 19th century!

United KingdomThe shower in one of the rooms was a bit decrepit but it worked well and it was clean (I think they may have mentioned it's to be changed soon?). Being on a busy road it is noisy all the time due to traffic so bring your earplugs if you can't sleep otherwise (I did as I am sensitive but my friend and family had no issues with that).
Best breakfast I had in a B&B, hash browns cooked to perfection! Lovely rooms, comfy beds, attention to details to make the stay really pleasant. The host was very kind and friendly and even went out of her way to help us with some extra things, we used the garden and the gazebo as well. She even brought us hot water and a proper pot and cups and saucers to the gazebo to enjoy the evening tea and snacks. The house is a nicely converted place, with nooks and crannies and lovely views over the loch. Everything smelled clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

United KingdomDifficult to regulate room temperature. Would benefit from air conditioning, but don't let that put you off. I would most definitely stop here again.

United KingdomThe location and how far away it was from shops etc. This of course is no fault of the owners. There was was 2 restaurants and a fish n chip shop nearby. The villiage in pub was a lovely meal. We went there twice. I would definatly stay here again only i strongly recommend you have a car to get around. There is limited bus and train services to the villiage. And there is no shops nearby due to covid.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They even made a welcoming gesture for our stay for our wedding anniversary. Which was a really nice touch. The rooms we stayed in were clean and comfortable. I would have liked a mini fridge just to put drinks into to have something cold due to the heat. They did provide fans which was great. The breakfast was lovely i really enjoyed it and it filled us for the day. I would definatly come back.

Netherlandsthe landing that leads to the room we stayed in was rather low. As I am quite tall it was a bit awkward going in and out of the room. The room itself and the rest of the house are normal in hight. :-) The road can be noisy early in the morning.
Lovely, very friendly hosts, great breakfast and beautiful view from the room.

FinlandThe decor of the room was a little worn out, however we enjoyed it still. The moisture from outside made our clothes a little damp, and this is the case with most older buildings as there is little or no ventilation and the air outside is very damp.
The location was nice in Arrochar, a beautiful loch view. A few restaurants are within walking distance from the B&B. Melissa was a friendly host! The breakfast was great, for example the berries were a nice touch on top of everything else. The room was spacious.

United KingdomThere was some road noise from a broken manhole cover, but this did not detract from our stay and hopefully will be repaired soon.
The hosts, Melissa and Paul were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. The full English breakfast was exceptional and I wish I could have made more inroads into it. Whilst the room was small it was cosy and clean with lovely views out to the loch opposite. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

Melissa was a lovely host! She was very warm and friendly first thing in the morning and last thing at night. You can tell she enjoys what she does! The location of the B&B was great for a walk along Loch Long and located near to The Village Inn, a pub we would recommend eating at. It was only a short drive to Loch Lomond too.

NetherlandsWe were sleeping in a room with a low ceiling and as my partner is very tall it wasn't high enough for him, this made the bathroom also a challenge. During the night there is some traffic on the road nearby which can be a downpoint if it is very busy (we slept there on a Sunday, we did have our window open).
The hospitality of our hosts was fantastic, including local tips and nice chatter. Also the location of the B&B in general is perfect to investigate the area. Breakfast was very good. Would definitely come again =)
