Breakfast was included in the room price and was good and consistent each morning. Rooms were clean and we stayed in a room that had been recently upgraded. Room included a built-in sitting area that is small to work at.

Beds were a little hard

The staff were friendly, the parrot in reception was hilarious, kept impersonating a telephone, loved him. The bar prices were really reasonably as were the delicious cakes served after breakfast. The hotel was clean and tidy, would definitely stay again

Room was okay. A couple of cobwebs but overall room was clean. Nice comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent. Bar was great and the young chap under the influence was amusing but not a problem to anyone. Staff were very nice.

The only negative thing was that the shower did not have a lot of water coming out of the head, my colleague described it as just a few strands of water cascading down which made showering properly a bit hard.

I have spoken with my colleagues and they said the breakfast was excellent and the rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They loved the parrot too and looked forward to seeing him every day. Would defiantly stay there again if they have to come back up there for work.

Great location for our gig, we arrived a bit early but as our room was ready they let us check in. Breakfast staff were lovely and very prompt.

The only ‘down’ about our stay was our breakfast which we went down for about 9am. The dining area is pleasant and we automatically headed towards a window seat to enjoy the view. The person serving ‘instructed’ us to sit nearer the serving area which was when we then noticed the tables had been set. Although the venue restaurant wasn’t busy it was set up so that diners were close to the kitchen and prep area. The server asked us for our room numbers (plural) and we gave our single room number to which she replied, ‘So you’re in the same room?’ This seemed to surprise her and the tone was questioning. We affirmed that was the case - we are a same sex couple in our 50s. It just seemed an odd reply and tone. Aside from that, the server was efficient. We wondered if she was having ‘a bad day’.

Cosy, excellent location. Friendly, welcoming staff who were happy to engage in casual but genuine chit chat. Wifi was very good, parking great. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room etc were superb. Same with the gym. We were able to check in early - even though we arrived early and without notice. Also able to use the facilities after check out at 11am which was a great bonus meaning we could use the hotel as a base on our check out day which meant we spent more time (and money) in the local area.
