Our room was very small and the decor very tired---certainly not what we expected for the price we paid

Clothes storage was a small rail fixed to the wall, would not suit a weeks holiday. Hotel Nightclub outside room10 was quite noisy. TV not working room 14 for mother in law, and unable to fix it for one night stay. Hotel was a bit quirky on several levels with spiral steps from the street outside up to reception although there was a small lift to the first level….however the corridor to bedrooms was very dark with dark carpet on a spiral staircase leading to a heavy door. Shower space very small in room 14 like a caravan with nowhere to put anything except a toothbrush, no shelves or cupboards at all in the ensuite for room 10 either.

Parking was free. Restaurant was clean and spacious with good food. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented. Bed was comfy. Room was fairly clean with spacious ensuite in room 10 although quite sparse, no storage space. Free use of gym equipment and indoor warm pool with basic changing facilities.

inconsistency in the standards..first day was awesome second morning for breakfast was like we’d woke up in another hotel. very un organised as they had had a rush of people for breakfast and couldn’t keep up the standards. on check out there was no one on the desk till 10am which then our bill wasn’t ready.. they had to email the bill for us to pay it.

Very noisy due to nightclub below the hotel which kept me awake. Maybe due to the room we had been allocated at the front over the lane to the nightclub.

The breakfast was delicious and the hotel was near to the location where we going to a function. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly

ANOTHER LIFT TO THE NEXT FLOOR.

LOVELY STAFF AND GOOD FOOD. ROOMS VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

Access road to car park was closed and receptionist was unaware of this fact but did give us an alternative route after us having to ask. Restaurant closed very early and staff did not seem to be aware of this. We were told one night that it was 9.00 p.m. but when we went for a meal there was two meetings going on and the restaurant was closed so we had to eat in the bar. On our arrival we could not get lunch as receptionist said they did not do lunch but could not recommend any other places to eat. Would have thought this should be known by staff as after a very busy day we had to search for somewhere to eat and next day when out for a walk found out if we had went in the other direction we would have had several choices.

The pool and leisure facilities were great. Room very clean and tidy. Cleaning staff must work hard and deserve the credit. Breakfast was good and staff very helpful.

Several stairs to negotiate and I wasn't told about the lift. Dining room rather dark and gloomy. Highlight was the talking parrot who said bye bye when I left.

There was a function on the night I visited. I wanted to relax after my journey before going out later at night but I had to turn the volume on the TV right up to drown out the noise from the function.

A pleasant enough stay, comfortable and very handy for amenities - being right in the centre of the town. Really nice breakfast.

No plug socket anywhere close to the only mirror in the room. Door didn't latch shut, only way to keep the door closed was to lock it. The room was tired and dated.

Breakfast finishing at 9 a little early for my liking. Buddy needs to up his repertoire a bit! I think the nightly rate a little steep.

Staff were all great. Central location and I did enjoy the full Scottish breakfast.
