The cooked english breakfast could have been better for me - it seemed as if it had been cooked earlier and had been kept warm. The evening meal was ok but I wouldn't rate it as the best.

The room we had was very nicely decorated and very comfortable had everything we needed. The bath room was lovely and looked new to me. The cooked breakfast was ok but it seemed that it had been hanging around a bit (the english breakfast). On the second day I didn't have a cooked breakfast I had cereal and yoghurt and just toast (the toast was doubled in amount and was freshly done). The choice for a continental breaksast was good - cereal yoghurts croissants and juice.

Dinner was marred for me by a loud, foul mouthed person. Hotel staff were very apologetic.

Received a warm welcome. Room very comfortable although it was a bit of a squeeze in the bathroom. Dinner was superb and a good, hearty breakfast.

The hotel evening meal menu was not to my wife's and my taste, which meant for two evenings we had to drive to an alternative dining venue, not good.

Breakfast was welcoming each morning a good selection of cereals, juices and cooked choices, followed by toast and selection of spreads.

Very welcoming staff and comfortable room. Ideal location in the middle of the town but the room we had was round the side so fairly quiet. Food both in the evening and at breakfast was very good.

The atmosphere was amazing. They made us and everyone else feel welcome. The restaurant was warm and the food and drink was what we expected and not overpriced. Room was spotless with lovely little touches like expensive bath and shower wash, loved it.

I have stayed at The Royal Oak a number of times over the last twenty years. The food and the service has improved a lot in the last decade. I would recommend staying in the hotel.

Parking bays are a little on the narrow side. Not a big deal, but the risk of dings is always intimidating.

Beautiful, charming old hotel with wonderfully very friendly staff, a gorgeous interior, comfortable beds, and delicious meals. The dining area is complemented with very comfortable seating, no music, a fairly romantic atmosphere (perhaps depending on company) and is simply a delight to eat in. Thank you very much again for having us.

Marked down slightly as boy racers noisy to late evening . Also talking outside until about 0300 one morning . Realise you probably can't do much about it with poor police resources and Welsh government don't do right and wrong .
