Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomService was a bit slow for breakfast.
We stayed during the quiet off season and were offered a free upgrade room without asking and even though we were only staying one night. The room was spectacular with a lovely view over the old course. We ate at the second restaurant a la carte - food was decent. Breakfast was brought to the table which is a nice change to the usual buffet style. There was a full size snooker table to play at and the one under bar downstairs was lively. On street parking was free, we found a space about a par 3 away from the Hotel.

United KingdomParking. After driving a long way, we come from Oxford, to be faced with £35 a day seemed disproportional
Breakfast staff and food excellent . Great modern choice on menu. Even got avocado and sourdough bread! Reception staff and other staff all extremely helpful and friendly. They have done tthe hotel in exceptional taste, we have been going there for over 30 years and we were very impressed with the upgrade. The flowers dotted around were also very good.

United KingdomThe stay with my wife and two daughters could not not have been better. The up graded rooms for my 90th birthday were superb with the views over the Old Course. My wife and I stayed in the hotel for my 70th birthday and the transformation of the upgrade is amazing. Our stay was outstanding in every respect.

United StatesParking could be a problem, so we used the valet service.
The location is second to none. On the 18th fairway we had a beautiful room with a balcony. Room 601. The food in the rooftop restaurant was fabulous as was the service.

United KingdomDifficult to get served drinks in the roof top bar. All staff seemed busy doing other things and ignored us and other guests sitting waiting for someone to ask us what we wanted to drink.

United KingdomBreakfast time was a little chaotic, and some of the junior staff seemed to struggle a little. It didn't affect our enjoyment, but you could see others getting a little irritated.
Great location with fantastic views over the iconic St Andrews golf course, plus the advantage of looking out over the beach to the sea. Traditionally, styled hotel with lovely features and obviously its great golf heritage. Special, mention to Tom on reception who went above and beyond, trying to guide us past all the flooded roads to get us to the hotel.

United KingdomThe only thing we missed was having access to spa facilities but this is understandably not something the hotel can offer due to the building other than that there was nothing we didn't like!
The Breakfast was amazing, the welcome so warm and welcoming and the room was amazing with a massive comfy bed. We had a very nice cosy and relaxing stay and would highly recommend!

Kuwaitnothing.
First the hotel itself. I personally think the hotel's location is excellent, and the interior of the lobby is very cosy. They have all the necessary facilities including a nice fitness centre. I had breakfast at the bridge as well and the food and coffee were nice. The view from where I was seated was beautiful. Second, the staff. I only stayed for a night so I did not interact with the staff much but everyone I did interact with were all so friendly, nice and helpful. They made me feel welcomed. Lastly, the room! if you're able I definitely recommend getting a room with a balcony overlooking the incredible view. The room itself was a very nice size. it was spotless, had everything I needed, and the bed had to be one of the comfiest warmest beds I have ever slept on.
