Bed wasn’t very comfortable, it was like being perched on top of a dome. Corridors were very dark but I guess it adds to the atmosphere.

Great character property and very friendly and helpful staff.

Difficult to find bins for dogs rubbish, not many bins around. Dogs had to come for breakfast which makes it difficult as need to sit out in another room, away from the food, it would help if tea and coffee were available in the other room as back and forth a lot, food also used up in buffet area but once staff knew they brought more food out but had to wait. Overall nice stay thanks

Beautiful place, staff very friendly took 2 small dogs which was nice to be able to take with us. Great access to take dogs out for toilet in several areas. Would be nice to have spa break but couldn’t use as can’t leave dogs in bedroom but will come back without them another time.

Spa experience was limited. Glad I booked mud treatment and hot tub as they're were only 2 steam rooms. Couldn't have evening meal due to "not much food left," which I thought was madness. Quite a random excuse for such a large establishment.

Lovely stay, staff friendly, very clean.

The hotel just felt a little tired and run down. The room was a great size, but had a peelibg ceiling, one lamp not working and some bulbs and shades missing in the chandelier. The mattresses definitely need replacing! It was a very hard bed and not at all comfortable for a side sleeper like me. The spa was nicely set out, but the changing rooms were tiny and mussing luttle touches like hooks for towels and clothes. Several lockers didn't work and hooks would have been useful around the hot tubs too.

Very atmospheric building in a nice Welsh village.

Rooms very run done we had a deluxe room needs serious updating to keep up with other spa hotels Spa was basic changing rooms ridiculous no room at all No working lift so he prepared to negotiate stairs Food was average needs an overhaul of menus all in all an outstanding castle but faculties are very below what is advertised and it needs some serious money spent on it to bring it up to exacting standards

We were moved from room 116 to 222 as room poor. Heating inadequate, mould on window frames and flaking paint. Our 2nd room was better but lots of flaking paint and everywhere tired.Window frames rotten.

A beautiful location and grounds were amazing. The dining staff where very friendly and food was good . The reception rooms were grand and impressive and reception staff polite. A comfy bed.

The place generally felt a bit 'tired' and in need of redecoration - in our room the paintwork was chipped or marked in many places. Our room was quite small and cramped. The breakfast room wasn't well organised, we saw tables being reset without being wiped down. Some trays in the breakfast buffet weren't refilled promptly.

Lovely location, beautiful grounds. Interesting building, quite quirky. Lots of peacocks! Nice shower with a good flow. Bed was comfortable.

Long walk to dining room, reception etc from the room and some areas need tlc.

I booked this room for my son and daughter in law and the receptionist was very friendly. There are lovely grounds to stroll round. The room had a luxurious bathroom, which was a treat, and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

room was fairly clean . The whole place could benefit from some TLC. The staff made it for me . They were obviously trying their best , under difficult circumstance. They should be appreciated , I hope someone will pass on our feelings.

the room was fine , but not serviced. However someone had been in the room , as this was second nigh we expected the room to have been cleaned , and the towel rail etc left on. we had to ask for water .
