This is a hostel so don't expect a 5* hotel. The room was clean the beds were a bit "springy" also all the rooms had en-suite, this hostel doesn't have parking, it was on street breakfast was in the kitchen/diner as was a help yourself, there was a good selection.

The bathroom smelled a little bit damp.

The owner was really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The bedding looked brand new and was really comfortable. The room was quiet and warm and the kitchen was well stocked. The shower was really hot with great water pressure.

Good value town hostel.

Welcoming host. Warm and comfortable room. Good value for a private room. Breakfast of toasts, spreads, cereal, milk including non-dairy, fruit juice. Good kitchen for cooking a meal. Location town centre. On street parking close by.

It was very noisy on the ground floor from people waiting at the taxi rank, but apart from reglazing the window and moving the taxi office, there's not much they can do about it. It was a cheap and cheerful hostel and fitted our needs but our room floor could have done with a sweep and our loo could have done with a clean, prior to our arrival.

Fantastic value for money. Good location and the kitchen facilities were excellent.

Unfortunately, I could only take a lukewarm shower as I couldn't get the water to get any hotter. (I have stayed there before and the shower did work properly then, so it might have been just bad luck that day.)

It was a great option to travel on a budget. James was very friendly when he showed me around. It is nice that the room has an en-suite-bathroom and that there is a kitchen in the hostel.

Disruptive other guest - but not a reflection on the property and the owner dealt with it well.

Convenience - close to shops, restaurants, station. Brilliant price! Helpful and pleasant owner. Common room and kitchen area was very comfortable and well stocked.

It was what I expected. I’m just someone who likes everything fresh, clean and new and, well, this is a hostel. Everything seemed clean, but it was shabby. It’s me though, the hostel was great for being a hostel.

Great breakfast! Really nice that they make it available all day and night because there were a couple of hungry travellers who we thought were probably not eating much else.

Shower could be better, it was not possible to have aeration. No window and fan not working. Floor a little bit noisy, but not a big deal.

I am not a typical Youth Hostel person - 73 years old, cycling LEJOG, and stayed in a mix of expensive hotels and Youth Hostels. So my comments should take that into account. My room’s light was broken so the owner had installed 3 spot lights. The enthusiasm and helpfulness of the owner offset this minor discomfort.

The owner is a very helpful man. The common room was large and also acted as the kitchen and breakfast room. There were facilities to have cereals with a fridge stocked with milk etc. As a Youth Hostel it was very good.

This is a backpackers, there is some noise, but that is part of the shared experience and completely reflected in the value price. Don't come here if you expect a 200 quid room for a quarter of the price.

The friendly welcome, the spotlessly clean room, the facilities, the price, the location close to many great takeaways, the bargain offer of wash and dry for 4 quid!

Great mix of people staying at the hostel. Huge selection of items for the breakfast which was included - cereals, milks, bread, jams, spreads etc. Clean room and bathroom. Nice big kitchen area.

It's ok for one night in seperate room, but can't imagine sleeping with more people as the beds make loud noises. It wasn't very clean and we would recommend to have your own towels.

The location was great! Everyone was really friendly.
