This hotel exterior especially the car park and entrances let it down as do some of the finishes inside. It has great potential but as with many hotels across Scotland they need more regular investment

The views were excellant. The gardens were excellant for sitting relaxing. Close to town just a short walk along promenade enjoying the views.

It seems that the hotel is in the process of being refurbished. The single room I was put in at first was depressing to be in, with petrol fumes, and cigarette fumes seeping into my room all night.(tbh, I was allocated a better room as soon as I spoke to staff)My friend also stayed in an equally depressing single room, however, as I said, there are better rooms. The food is average- best eat out or get a takeaway. Games facilities including the pool table badly need replacing, and updating.

Central location- easy to get to the ferry, period hotel. Friendly,and approachable staff. Friendly guests. Small hotel. Lovely garden. The rooms are cleaned daily.

There is a need to have 2 sittings for the evening meal when there is a large group of tourists in the hotel. 7p.m for the group 8p.m for other guests I entered at 7 o'clock and didn't have my first plate until 7:50 but the restaurant was full. The menu was not too exciting!!

I needed to relax and so I breakfasted much later... Brunch! The hotel was nice and quiet and I enjoyed my stay!

The place is like a maze.

The breakfast was perfectly satisfactory. The hotel was very clean and had been painted recently. Some signs of faded grandeur but I quite like that,

The hotel is not suitable for someone using it for staying over for work. There was 2 coach parties from Yorkshire there and the entertainment went on to 11pm! Also, the room above me had very sqeaky floorboards, and the people staying in that room git up at 6am! So, I didn't have a good sleep

The shower pressure wasnt great. Doors closers are really tight, so if you dont hang onto to the handle they bang pretty loudly.

I arrived on a Saturday that evening was v noisy into the early hours by other guests banging doors loud talking in the corridor. Not great when you’ve traveled all day and are trying to sleep. Only that night the rest of my stay was quiet.

The car park is too small, the bathroom was ok but you had to lift the toilet seat to open and close the toilet door!!!

Great location on the promenade, back garden with seats and tables looks out on the beautiful West Bay, also a fabulous lounge and balcony area with the same outlook. Also a quarter of a mile from the start and finish of the Dunoon 10k which was ideal 😊

Breakfast arrived within three minutes and was slightly dry so probably kept warm under heat. No toast given and didn't see it on menu but noticed some other guests had toast cleared away at end of their meal and there were condiments on the table.
