We had a great comfortable stay last weekend. It was my daughters birthday and Joby decorated with a banner and cupcakes, really thoughtful. There was beers in fridge when we arrived and even offered us two big G & Ts on sat night. Very friendly and advice given on restaurants etc. Thanks.

Great communication from Joby leading up to the stay, answered all queries and was really helpful in letting us leave our bags early. Room was just as described and as others have reported there was the generosity of beer left in the fridge and croissants in the morning even though we had an early departure. Would recommend and happily stay there again.

Very glad there was a fridge in the room and also the welcoming by the host in general, the beds were very comfortable to sleep in and although it was just a room, it felt like a luxury hotel suite, bathrooms are quite large compared to anywhere else.

That we couldn’t stay longer 😩

It's been quite some time since we've felt such genuine hospitality from a host. In fact, I can't recall ever feeling so welcomed before. Joby was absolutely fantastic. From thoughtful recommendations for dining options to delightful surprises like croissants and Easter eggs on Easter Monday, not to mention a cheeky gin, every detail was meticulously taken care of. We followed Joby's recommendations and were delighted with every place we visited. The room itself was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and exuded a cozy charm. Already looking forward to our next stay!!

    That we couldn't stay longer.

My best friend and I stayed at Storm in a Teacup for two nights for my birthday. I cannot express how exceptional the stay was. We were greeted by Joby, who is just the loveliest man, nothing was too much. Once i shared it was my birthday he came back to the room with a birthday gin and it wasn't a basic gin, I'm talking homemade, flavoured ice cubes and fruit and mini cupcakes. There were beers and water in the fridge too. The bed was incredible . Exceptionally clean and the bathroom was fresh with the best shower. Our room afforded the most stunning views. Then in the morning Joby arrived with croissants!! Thank you for making my birthday and so special.

The double bed was a bit small for us but my husband is 6 foot 2 and we have a super king at home . It was a very comfortable mattress and good pillows.

Joby was a fantastic host. Very welcoming and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. It was very quiet and peaceful. Good to have a parking space. Small bathroom but very good shower and heated towel rail. Easy to walk into St Ives. Good exercise walking back up the hill… you wouldn’t want to nip back up if you forgot something but quite good to walk off your evening meal in St Ives ! Great to have smart tv . We watched a film on Netflix. Joby made us a st Ives gin and tonic and mock tail complete with fresh fruit and a red skull ice cube apparently homemade from berries which were both delicious and a real treat on our first evening and fresh baked croissants and jam in a paper bag for our journey home on our last morning. Joby really went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Joby recommended The Quarter deck restaurant on Ayr holiday park which was a 2 minute walk away down hill. It was really lovely . Amazing view of the sea and St Ives. Great coffee and breakfast . Very high standard . We had a full English, veggie breakfast and a waffles and fruit breakfast. The swimming pool looked lovely too. Very friendly staff. Very convenient for breakfast and dinner if your staying at Storm in a tea cup.

Joby met us on arrival, extremely friendly and welcoming. Showed us to our room and showed us the facilities. Fridge had a couple of welcome cold beers and water. There was a fully stocked tea and coffee making station with lovely biscults. The room was light and airy, well set out with a beautiful on-suite bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, with very warm comfy duvet and pillows. Joby let us know the best way to get to the sea front and gave us the local taxi service number if we needed it. The bonus, fresh croissants left outside our room in the morning. All in all we had a fantastic stay, and will hopefully be back!

this is a perfect gem, Joby is an amazing host and couldn’t do enough for us. The small touches like gin whilst we got ready in the evening and hot croissant in the morning made it extra special. Free parking which is a plus in St Ives. Brilliant location. I would highly recommend Storm in the tea cup. best beds ever, lovely and warm.

Bathroom is very small but totally usable, not a negative.

Amazing place to stay! We had great communication from the owners before and during our stay. Joby messaged us shortly after booking with information recommending places to eat and with taxi phone numbers. On arrival, we found the room spotlessly clean. We were in room 3 which has two bedrooms meaning my daughter had a bunk bed all to herself. A counter top fridge was a useful addition to the room and had been stocked with beers and mineral water. There were also various biscuits and sachets to make hot drinks. The room comes with the benefit of a parking space on the drive which is a real bonus in St Ives! Porthmeor Beach, the Tate, the harbour and the town centre are within reasonable walking distance although it's a steep hill back up to Storm in a Teacup! The room came with small bath towels and hand towels with offers of changing them if needed. We stayed Monday to Friday of October half term and on our final morning we had a knock on the door. We were presented with hot croissants, jam and fresh orange juice and also a gluten free double chocolate muffin for my daughter which was so thoughtful (I had asked for recommendations for gluten free eateries at the point of booking).
