How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Walls were a tad thin. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper!
The location is a stone's throw away from Earl's Court Underground, yet it is around a quiet corner very quiet and quaint away from the hustle and bustle. Laundry and cooking facilities are available, with hairdryer and iron, all of which are greatly appreciated. Minimal interaction with staff, there were many guests but you couldn't really tell as we rarely saw them. Nothing to complain really, absolutely 💯

The main bedroom was quite small with no side tables.
Great apartment for a family of four, close to the Tube station. Loved having laundry facilities and staff were responsive to our needs/questions.

Had some trouble with heat programming but I fixed by myself. Cleanliness was ok, but could be way better. Some pillows were stained with makeup: lingerie looked washed but should be disinfected thoroughly .
Excellent location, beautiful neighbourhood, good place to stay.

I wasn't expecting the side of the bed to be next to the wall making access difficult - needed to crawl up and down the bed. Photos of the double room did not indicate that this scenario was likely.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the efficient free laundry and the location.

The bathroom was very small, there was a very small place between the toilet and the wall it was facing towards, so for a taller person it would be difficult to use. There was no phone service available on the ground floor. Fortunately at least there was free WiFi available there.
There were iron and ironing board in the cupboard. Fridge was also in the room. The bed was extremly comfortable. The staff was very nice and friendly. The area is safe and nice. Bus stop is very close, underground stations are not far either. Free WiFi in the room.

Perfect, safe and quiet location near to Earl's Court station. Lots of restaurants, supermarkets in few minutes walk. Charming apartment. Big plus for the possibility that the buggage can be leave there after check-out for a few hours. Great value for the price.

The apartment, impeccably clean, nestled within a quintessential London building, located in the heart of Kensington. From the moment I booked, the host, trough message, was incredibly accommodating and responsive. The apartment itself was a cozy retreat, equipped with all the amenities one could need for a short or extended stay. Furthermore, the location was ideal, offering easy access to nearby attractions (Eg National History Museum and Science Museum) while still providing a peaceful atmosphere to unwind after a day of exploration. Overall, I recommend this apartment.

Basement room was a little cramped.
Location excellent, 4-5 minutes away from Earls Court Tube Station, an M&S Foodhall, and a variety of restaurants. 12 minute walk (if that) to Kensington High Street. Comfy bed, good shower.

My room had an obstructed view from an ac unit and I was not informed beforehand. Also, since I was traveling with my daughter I had asked for separate beds, which we did not have without prior notification
The property was clean and convenient. The location was close to the metro station. A quiet and elegant neighborhood quite close to the main road with supermarkets, boots, and restaurants

Only thing we’d have preferred if the bed was away from the wall on both sides so that we could each have a bedside table and to make it easier getting in and out of bed
Close to a good tune station, plenty of local shops, bars and restaurants. It was clean, spacious and lovely staff

The studio was small but enough for a couple.
The welcome was good, the studio was very clean, furniture was clean and modern, bathroom was new and clean. Kitchen was sufficient and there was everything for cooking.

Our bed slopped down on one side, the most used side. My husband felt he was sliding off. But otherwise there was nothing not to like.
The property was beautifully decorated and clean. It was in a really convenient location too. Close to Earl’s Court underground. The staff were very professional and friendly.

Nothing all good - would stay again
Great service and the meet and greet with a coffee was a lovely touch. Clean and spacious and excellent value for money. Felt secure and safe too and after all this is London so this was an important consideration
