Bar prices rather optimistic…. As in our case, would have been happy to stay in hotel for drinks and probably food but “pushed out” to find somewhere more in line with price expectations.

I was at the front of the hotel and there was a very loud hum from outside which started at 6.45 am on Friday morning and continued until almost 8am. I have no idea what it was but sounded like an oil delivery which took forever. My colleagues at the back of the hotel didn't hear a thing so I would request a room at the back next time.

Breakfast was good if you were down early. I ate at 7.30 on one morning and the selection was excellent but at 9 am the following morning there was very little to choose from. Scrambled egg and mushrooms finished and no croissants etc. Ended up having a sliced of toast and a cup of coffee. Staff were lovely and food in the restaurant was great. Location was perfect for the convention centre and Harrogate is a really lovely town. I would stay here again.

Limited parking which was extra Had to check out by 10:30 on a Sunday and breakfast 07:30 to 10:30 We did feel that water could have been provided in the room as unavailable to purchase when the room cost £185 for one night minimum.

The check in desk was on the other side of the main bar so when we checked in around 7pm we had to ask and wait for some while for someone to check us in. The single room was a little dirty and very thin walls between rooms, kept us during the two nights with people walking about and creaky floorboards and even snoring from the room next door. Breakfast was average and long waits for the hot food to be replenished

We were a bit confused as to whether we had to use the automatic (computer) booking-in system or could book in at reception. The reception area is based at the bar and although there are signs to reception we were still uncertain, and I think other people weren't certain either.

The food at the hotel was excellent, both breakfast and evening meal, with a varied menu. We were most impressed with all the staff who were friendly, and very helpful. A very enjoyable stay.

Thought the bedroom was a little bit cramped. But nothing really to bother about.

The fact that we upgraded to a deluxe double but ended up with a smaller standard room. When we made reception aware of it, they said they don't do deluxe rooms. Yet it's clearly an option on booking.com

Room cleanliness. On arrival toilet was unclean, bathroom smelt badly , staff didn't ask if i "enjoyed my stay " on leaving. Staff too young. Need an older experienced manager to up their level in my opinion. Skirtings dusty . Cleaning needs to be much better

We were in room 133 and although the room was decent I was disappointed that the window was frosted and we were unable to even see what the weather was doing or even see any sky. As I was paying for 2 rooms because I took my sister and brother in law away as a thank you, I did ask for front of hotel facing rooms which they got and were very pleased with , so we felt a little peeved to have the back room with no outlook at all.

Lovely hotel. Excellent staff. Beautifully refurbished . We have stayed here twice before but this is the 1 st time since most recent refurbishment.

The rooms do need some TLC, bathroom needs decorating. Bedroom could certainly have been cleaner, lots of dust on the floor at back of desk area. It’s still nice but could be better and I would still stay here again.

The location is good, walking distance to most places restaurants etc. The staff are very friendly. The bar/restaurant area is very nice. Car park on site is small but we were lucky.

Ceiling in room 125 needs repairing, looks like there's been a leak. Also pipes were banging whilst having a shower.

Very limited parking for guests at the hotel, however the multistory carpark was within walking distance. Our room facing the main road was a tad noisy with traffic and late night pedestrians which kept my other half awake. Even if the window was shut, because of the age and style of the windows, there would be no difference with the noise. Room was exceptionally warm, had to turn the heating off and keep the window open.

Superb location providing easy access to sights and shops. Really comfy bed. Fantastic breakfast selection. Loved the fantastic artwork on the walls en route to our room.
