The only downside was the bathroom. We know it's an old coaching Inn but we are 77 years of age and the shower is in the bath with a wrap round shower curtain. Totally inaccessible for my wife. In this day and age we would suggest removing the bath and replacing with a walk in shower cubivle.

Lovely old coaching Inn, The bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the evening meal we enjoyed very much. Great atmosphere in the place especially the bar and dining area.

One of the staff was a little gloomy and the car parking was slightly short on spaces sometimes.

Brilliant breakfast and loved the history to the place. The room was far beyond what we expected.

Flexibility of Room allocation. The first room offered had a connecting door something we absolutely hate. we were reallocated - fortunately into a beautiful room which made our 55th Anniversary stay perfection

It's such a shame that Stilton was so quiet and lacked the history like the hotel.

Great room in such an old and historic hotel. The room had all the necessary amenities and the biscuits and chocolates were a lovely added touch. Breakfast was very tasty 🤤 It was nice to have a choice of a bath and shower in the room.

    All ok

We picked this hotel for a stopover on a long journey back home to Kent from Scotland. It served that purpose very well being a short way off the A1 and yet being in a lovely old world village with no noise from the motorway. The hotel had a good restaurant and bar and there are also other pubs and restaurants nearby.

    Nothing

The Bell Inn Stilton has a fascinating history having been a coaching inn on the road out of London to the North This long history is still evident in the hotel today with its oak beamed ceilings and staircases. It has however been very carefully modernised to provide the high standard of faculties that are required by quests today while still retaining its old world charm The rooms are very homely and comfortable with classical music to welcome you on arrival coming from a Roberts radio . The En-suite bathroom was fully appointed with bath ,shower washbasin and toilet complimented with soft towelling and all manor of bath products . Breakfast were excellent with a good choice of fruit juice, cereals and excellent cooked food . Dinner was served in the courtyard bar / lounge and has a menu that will satisfy most preferences. The wine list was very comprehensive and fairly priced All the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful

The restaurant was closed at short notice due to staffing difficulties which was a shame as we had booked to meet up with friends who lived nearby. We were contacted to explain and were relocated to a nice table set up in the bar dining area.

Nice Friendly Staff, Stilton Shop, relaxed bar area, warm comfortable room and a good hearty breakfast.
