Communication beforehand was disappointing as we asked about leaving our luggage early before checking in but did not receive a reply. Could be noisy for some as the bar is open till 3am but we knew before so wasn’t a problem for us.

Perfect location in the middle of Cambridge and ideal for bars in the evening and exploring the city by day. Clean and comfortable bedroom. Helpful staff when we did check-in and Wetherspoons next door for breakfast.

There were no staff meaning self check in. bare bulbs no lamp shades on ceiling lights and no bedside or smaller lights in the room.

The hotel was warm, and quiet on the Wednesday night which I stayed.

The noise in the room was extremely loud at night but this was mentioned in other reviews so we did expect it

The tv was on a stool, it could be attached to the wall. The only light was on an old pull string giving the room crack den vibes There was nowhere to put my things. No wardrobe or cupboard, no desk or side table to put my stuff on. It all had to go on the floor. The mirror was on the back of the door. One of the curtains is falling off the curtain pole. It had a feeling of not being entirely finished.

The room was clean, the heating worked, nice tv and the bed was comfy bathroom down the hall was very clean. The room had lovely windows with lots of natural light Good size room Staff were so helpful and friendly

Landing bathrooms were ok for us off-season but would be a problem if higher occupancy.

Reasonable price for central location. Nearby multi storey parking has off-peak rates for overnight parking. Clean room comfy beds. There is a late night supermarket opposite to get your picnic breakfast from.

Vey noisy being right next to some large bars , glasses being emptied into bottle bins in the early hours will sure wake you. Rooms are very basic indeed

The noise levels from downstairs at the bar were louder than we expected, however we brought ear plugs as we had seen the warning that music goes on till 3am so we just made sure we had those in to start with when we went to sleep and that really helped! Also, the property could do with a little refurb but considering how cheap it was for so close to town, it was a great price!

Great location as it’s only a 10 minute walk or so into the centre of Cambridge and the river which is great for the price. The room was comfortable and a good size for three of us. We were on the top floor and we’re really surprised by how big the room was as there was loads of room for our bags etc. The shared bathrooms were always clean and had the standard shower gel, shampoo and conditioner to use if needed which was really handy. The staff were really friendly when we checked in and very helpful!

The rooms are quite small and the passages are quite complicated. We have to share bathrooms and showers. The worst part is that cuz it is on the main road and above a bar the noise can be too much at night and in the morning the sun shines through early and it was difficult to sleep. For the same money I would probably try to get one of the college accommodations. Quieter in the colleges.

It is on the main road to the heart of the town namely the colleges so it is easy to find for us. The staff are very friendly and easy to talk to.

2nd stay, shower room didn't have the hair and body wash dispenser wish was quite annoying.

I like the location, room is a nice size albeit basic, but nothing wrong with that, it clean and good condition... Room 7 fronts the main road which when I've stayed is crazy noisy throughout the night and morning, twice now - Tuesday and a Wednesday respectively. Bin collection, food delivery you name it, seems to happen outside this gaff lol. Not much the owners / operators can do, but if I am honest, doubt I will stay a 3rd time give the disruption. Shame, because I like the place.

When we booked, we were not aware that the bath and shower room would be on the corridor, shared with other guests - probably "ROOM ONLY" from the title should have indicated this fact to us. Noteworthy to mention, the shower and bath room was extremely clean during our whole stay! We got rooms towards the main street, such that we could listen quite vividly to the young people partying below us in one of the several bars and pubs. So take your AirPods or earplugs for you and your family with you ... or join the party gang.

The location is excellent for a short stay in Cambridge for travellers without a car and willing to travel with public transport. Arriving at the Cambridge train station the hotel is approximately 3 or 4 bus stations into the historic center. The bus lines 1, 3 or 7 pass by at a high frequency of less than 5min during the day, just 1£ a ride. From the hotel it is just a 5 to 10min walk into the historic center, with a lot of restaurants and bars around of all kinds, flavours and budgets. As the name indicates, the place itself is actually a very inviting pub (or bar)! The staff was extremely friendly and even helped us to carry our luggage - our grandma and our small one will be eternally grateful for this!
